Adam Goodes is a famous Australian Rules Football or AFL, while he is well known for his skill in the game he also spends much of his time working to both create equality and get rid of racism. Adam Goodes was born on the 8^th of January 1980, he started his AFL career at the age of 17 in 1997 meaning that he was subject to extreme racism through much of his career.

At this time racist comments were seen as the norm by most people, in fact almost everyone made racist comments without any second thought. Adam Goodes stood up against this because he believed in equality. Because of his view on racism Adam Goodes was insulted and verbally abused for many years but he stayed by his beliefs, and now racism is extremely frowned upon, largely because of Adam Goodes’ contribution.

As well as fighting racism, Adam Goodes is also trying to help create a better life for the victims of racism and racial inequality. Adam Goodes is the part owner of a business called “Go Foundation”, this organisation works to help aboriginal kids who have not managed to achieve the academic level that they want because of their race.

By Adam Goodes standing up against racism it started a totally new way of thinking,

Adam Goodes made them open their minds to his ideas instead of simple ignoring him and continuing on with their old ways. For Adam Goodes he didn’t fight the decisions and ideas of the people in power, but simple the masses of ordinary people. When Adam Goodes started fighting racism he created a way for all the other aboriginal people who had been abused to finally talk about it.

Adam Goodes has been risking his career and reputation from the day he started his fight against racism. He stood up against hundreds of thousands of people for the other aboriginals who couldn’t. He got criticized for this but stayed by his thoughts for the good of everyone he was fighting for.
