My name is actually an alteration of the name "Inga" (swedish) or "Ingeborg" (German version, which was my grandmothers name). The name also has Hungarian roots, where it was a translation of greek "Helena" . However, most often it is connotated by people with the South American "Incas", an ancient Peruvian culture.

It is a rather rare name in Germany, I didn't meet any other "Inka" till I was around 14 or 15.

My name is Matthias and I live in the northernmost part of Germany. It is only a few minutes from our school in Flensburg to Denmark. Therefore, many people speak Danish and trips to the neighboring country are frequent.
In Northern Germany there are a lot of Scandinavian names, for instance I know many "Inkas". North Germany is not very Catholic, but Protestant, so many have Christian names. My name is Hebrew and probably means something like "gift of God". But I think in Germany it is a very common name, even if you are not a Christian.

Hello from the Czech Republic!

I am Jana and live in the village, Mosty u Jablunkova, which is surrounded by the marvellous Beskydy Mountains. The mountains spread across four countries, the easternmost part of the Czech Republic, in the region of Moravia-Silesia, Poland, Slovakia and Ukraine.

The name of Jana is of Hebrew origin, Jochanan. It means “the God is Gracious” or “ the Gracious Gift of God”.

The name characteristics really fits me. Women of this name hate when injustice is around, protect the rights of weaker humans. These women are sometimes stubborn and are team players. And that´s me. :)

I have been teaching English, Cultural and Natural Heritage, Science for more than 25 years. At that time I taught pupils at Elementary school, later I launched a linguistic company where I was teaching adults, seniors, children. Since my teaching carrier I was interconnecting English classes with the natural and cultural heritage of the region I was grown up and have been living all my life, the Beskydy Mountains.

As I have always been trying to educate the students in an interactive and scientific way, preparing methodologies for them, I launched URSUS Science Centre eight years ago.

I am married and have two children, daughter Mirka and son Ondra. In my free time I love gardening and herbalism. I am keen on getting to know new matters, implementing innovations within my business and hobbies the world is full of. I am coming with my team, Zdenka, Mirka and Lucka.

My name is Sabrina and I come from a small town called "Nordenham" located in northern Germany, quiet close to the northern sea.

It's said that Sabrina is a feminine given name derived from Proto-Celtic *Sabrinā. It is also the romanization of an unrelated Arabic name, صابرينا ṣābrīnā, from the root sabr "patience". The name of the river is attested as Latinized Sabrina in the 2nd century. This is one of Britain’s most ancient river names. Hi everyone,
my name is Esther and I live in a small village in the centre of Germany and teach at a vocational college.
My name is a bibilical name. However, my Mom didn't choose it for religious reasons but because there was a woman she admired who was called Esther- and because it was (and still is) not a very common name. I only know 3 other persons called Esther. The name originally comes from Old Persian and means "star". I think it fits me quite well because I shine brighter at night - I am definitely not a morning person :-)
