3. Kegan Strategies and John Collins Writing Strategies  throughout the class period ( some examples include 4 corners, jigsaw, 321 etc.)
4. Embed 21st Century Skills in your class to include Teamwork, Collaboration, etc. -- be explicit in the directions, designate role of responsibilities,  have outputs  for students to provide evidence of learning,  model this for students and monitor for outputs/evidence this during class ( it is the we and you do process of gradual release)

Have one student sit in the inner circle; their partner directly behind them in the outer circle. Set the timer from anywhere from 7-20 minutes (start small the first time). Have inner circle discuss guided questions, learning concepts (whatever target you are working on); the outer circle stays silent and fills out a feedback/questionnaire form based on what they heard so they can coach their partner on the break. Meanwhile, teacher stays silent but monitors students based on the discussions. When the timer goes off, the partners have 5 minutes to give/receive coaching and they are back in for another round.
