Over 12,000 people were arrested in the process. The Mayday protests did not achieve the initial goal of shutting down the government on May 3rd, and most of the government employees still worked as normal. However, the Mayday protests played a role in damaging Nixon’s career and made the process of getting US troops out of Vietnam faster.

On October 21, 1976, 100,000 protesters protested at the Linclon Memorial against the Vietnam war. Organized by the National Mobilization Committee to End the War in Vietnam, the protest attracted tons of demonstrators who came to voice their opposition to the war. During the protest, the demonstrators listened to speeches from figures in the movement, including Dr. Benjamin Spock and the Reverend Martin Luther King Jr. The speeches emphasized the human cost of the war and the need for an end to the conflict. As well as protesting at the Memorial, some of the protesters attempted to enter the nearby Pentagon building. This led to clashes with military police and resulted in the arrest of over 600 demonstrators. In the end, the October 1967 protest at the Lincoln Memorial played a massive role in the anti-Vietnam War movement by raising awareness of the human cost of the conflict and gathering large numbers of people to call for an end to the war.

Former president Jonson authorized the use of napalm against Vietnam. This helped play into his campaign and gave him more to talk about for the upcoming elections.

The Nixon administration's secret bombing of Cambodia and the policy of Vietnamization had a significant impact on the anti-Vietnam War movement. The secret bombings were a direct violation of Cambodia's sovereignty and sparked later widespread protests across the United States. Many Americans who had previously supported the war became disillusioned with the conflict.
Vietnamization involved gradually transferring the responsibility for fighting the war from American troops to the South Vietnamese military. This policy was seen by many as an admission of defeat and a recognition that the war was unwinnable. It also led to a reduction in the number of American troops in Vietnam, which was a key demand of the anti-war movement.
Overall, the secret bombing and Vietnamization led to the last years of the movement, and made more Americans turn against Nixon
