The South did have slavery. The South supported slavery because, they was a big bang in cotton production, after the cotton gin was created. Slavery owners started to plant more cotton and buy more slaves for the increase of cotton. They more cotton they had the more slaves they needed to work, so that the owners could continue getting lots of money. The South was so focused on the cotton production that they rarely made any new inventions, and focused on cotton and slave labors.

Even before the American Revolution the North and South had many differences. These included ; inventions, population, city life, economy, culture and transportation. Slavery was mostly responsible for these differences between the North and the South. As well causing many problems between the two.

The North also had more inventions and success than the South. They invented a telegraph, mechanical reaper, railroads, steamboats, clipper ships, and sewing machines. Steamboats were used to travel through strong winds and streams faster than other early ships. The telegraph was a new form of communication which also inspired the creation of Morse Code.

With all those inventions, the streets became very dirty and additionally had bad sewage systems. The constant rate of factories being built helped women get jobs and prove that they are just as equal as men. Immigrants came to buy cheap land in the United States. People from all around the world came to the U.S. for job opportunities and to buy land. The Irish Famine escape lead people to the U.S. to starvation and Germans came to abscond harsh rulers/crimes.

The South only made inventions that helped its economy to grow in the cotton industry, and handle the slaves. The Cotton Gin, short for engine help the slaves pick the seeds from the cotton faster than their hands were able to pick the seeds. This made is the production of cotton to increase, because the slaves were able to produce cotton ten times faster then there were able to do before.

In 1790 the population of the South was 689,000 slaves in the United States. Then in 1860 when the United States census was taken about 4 million slaves lived here. Meanwhile in the North there were more white families in the cities working instead of colored skinned people. The population of the North consisted of mostly white and the South mostly consisted of colored skins. There weren't lots of building being built in the south, but lots and lots of cotton plants being planted. Instead of having an industrial revolution the South had a cotton revolution. The South's cities were cotton plantations, were slaves got abused and worked until they couldn't feel anything anymore.
