I need to be mindful of the way I speak to and about students. I can avoid unintentionally fostering self-doubt and instead help them break out of limiting beliefs.

Educator's Beliefs Impact Planning: My beliefs about students and their potential will shape how I create counseling interventions and programs. My belief in their potential will drive me to find creative ways to help them succeed, emotionally and academically.

Defensiveness in Educators: As a school counselor, I may sometimes feel protective of my approach or methods, especially if they've worked well in the past. Holding on too tightly to certain beliefs or strategies can limit my effectiveness. I need to be open to feedback, professional development, and new techniques in order to grow in the counseling profession.
