3. on rare occasions, these bacteria can cause other severe life threatening diseases.
4. These bacteria are spread through direct contact with mucus from the noe or throat of persons who are infected or through contact with infected wounds or sores on the skin. 
5. Treating an infected person with an antibiotic for 24 hours or longer eliminates their ability to spread the bacteria.
6. Symptoms can range from symptoms of no illness to mild illness, such as strep throat or a skin infection. to severe life threatening illness such as necrotizing facilitis. 
7. Necrotizing Faciliitis occurs when bacteria get into parts of the body where bacteria are not usually found, such as the blood, muscle, or the lungs. Thee infections are termed invasive GAS disease.
