This is a picture of my grandma. I have always been close with my grandma and she has helped me learn important thinks to know in my life. My grandma treats everyone with the same kindness. Whether she sees them on the side of the road, just met them, or have known them for years. My grandma never says anything bad about anyone and tells me to always think before i speak. My grandma is a great role model for me because she treats everyone the same, knowing that everyone deserves to be treated equally and with the same dignity.

This is a picture of Nathaniel but we call him Nate. Nate is a child that my cousin Angie fosters. Angie is a single lady that teaches deaf children and has fostered around 5 kids throughout the last few years. Most of her foster children come from bad backgrounds and very unstable homes. Angie is a major blessing to the lives of these children as she gives them a loving home and family to grow up in. Each child that Angie receives deserves the best life possible and was made in the image of God with a purpose in life. It's always hard when her kids get adopted or go back to their original homes (I get attached easily), but I know that they have bright futures and are loved.

This is a picture of me and my mom in Washington DC for the March for Life last year. My mom is my biggest role model and has the biggest heart. She treats anyone and everyone with the same love and respect. My mom is kindergarten teacher and she witnesses first how each child develops and how we are all different and unique in our own way. I have been on the March for Life 3 years now and each year I go my mom always reminds me how precious life is and how doing this we can make a difference. But she also reminds me how I am standing up for ALL life and how ALL life matters.

This picture is of my 97 year-old grandma and my three siblings. As kids we didn't really get to go see her much as she lived in the city while we lived in Chesterfield and we were a little too antsy to sit through a 45 minute drive. Seven years ago, however, she came to live with us as she could no longer live on her own. My mom began to take care of her and over the years, we have started to get more involved with helping her as we have become older and more capable of helping. What's amazing is that my mom will never give up because she always wants my grandma to have the best life, even though she is getting closer to possibly one day being gone and taking care of her is getting harder. I think one of the most remarkable memories I have of my grandma is holding her hand one time and marveling at how strong her grip was even though she looked so frail. I have loved getting to be with my grandma more as I have learned so much about her (like her love for music and the musical "Hello, Dolly!", which Cor Jesu put on when I was a freshman). One of the best things she taught me was to always love and thank God for all the blessings of life, and that it is great to be happy. I know my grandma might not be with us one day, but I am so thankful for her and all the time I am able to spend with her.

My sister has always taught me to be loving and respectful toward everyone around me, including myself. She was always my biggest role model and taught me to return hatred with kindness. She just found out that she is pregnant and I am so excited for her because I know she will love her child so much and teach her children the same things she taught me.

This was taken on thanksgiving when neither of them could be there. My grandma always says how she wants to make each grandchild feel special and loved, and never wants to make one feel better than the other. She treats us all with the same amount of love and respect. She wanted to make a point to call them to let them know she missed them and wanted them to know she loved them. She was also very very excited to learn about the group FaceTime feature!

They were beyond excited for me when I got into Cor Jesu, so I shared that same excitement with them when they got accepted. We have all been really close our entire lives, and even though they are younger than me they have always taught me to treat people with kindness and respect no matter what. Also, I know that as their older sister they look up to me as a role model in their lives, so they inspire me to be a better person so I can set a good example for them and help lead them on the right path in life.

this is a picture of me when i was a baby. I chose it because, while i am happy and healthy in the picture, when i was born, i had a lot of blood problems. i was born pretty early and had to be in the NICU for a while to help me survive. My parents even made my middle name Hope because of all their prayers that i would be healthy. I think my fight for life has affected my beliefs now because i want everyone else to have the best chance they can at life too. God created each of us to have life and dignity, so we should all know that we are blessed. Just like i always say, Smile. God Loves You

This is a picture of my young niece Emma. She was born a premature 2 months before her due date, at around 30 weeks. When my sister was in labor, my entire family was very nervous for the safety of both my sister and her baby. Fortunately, after an emergency C-section. We were so grateful that she came out okay thanks to the staff of the hospital. Emma is now a very healthy, beautiful baby but not all babies have that same possibility to live. In the US, babies can be aborted up until 24 weeks which is startling because those babies are so close in age to little Emma. Every baby deserves respect and love-abortion should not be an option. A baby, like Emma, is so fragile and completely dependent on their parents, and it is the parent's responsibility to protect its future, not destroy it before they even have a chance to live it. Emma reminds me that human life is so precious that it must be uplifted and respected at all times.

This is a picture of my grandma holding my dad when he was a baby. This picture reminds me of how much our parents truly do love us and how much their effort means to them, and how much it should mean to us. Throughout our lives our parents do everything in our best interest. We are their family, and those who they in a few years will be going to and depending on in their older years. This picture also reminds me that my grandma did choose life, and many people do not. I think this picture shows the importance, and value that every human being has no matter how young they may be. Our parents may be disappointed at times, but they will always love us no matter how hard it may be at a particular time.

This is picture of me, my mom, and my grandma when I was a baby. This picture reminds me of the love of family between generations. My grandma's funeral was the first day of freshmen year for me. It makes me sad to think that she as well as my other grandparents couldn't be here to see me in high school, but their memories remind me of how important it is that I do what I love and follow my dreams, as well as to do well in my classes. I try to live making her and my other grandparents proud. She treated everyone with respect and dignity and she was a good role model to show how to live a strong family life, even when things go wrong.

This is a picture of me, my grandparents, and my siblings. My grandpa is one of the kindest and most caring people I know. He's full of compassion for others, and always knows exactly what to say or do to make someone smile. I love him a lot, and while I don't remember it, I know he helped care for us when we were toddlers and my parents didn't have time to take care of us, which shows just how much he loved us. Now, my grandpa is living with us because his health has been deteriorating, but I'm so grateful that this difficulty has given me the opportunity to spend more time with him, grow closer to him, and learn from him. I hope to live my life the way my grandpa has, with respect towards everyone, no matter what differences we have, because we are all made out of love and in God's image.

This is a picture of a frame in my house, inside of it two pictures. One of the three of us as babies and one of us in ultrasound. In only one of these pictures are we legally considered human beings. I'm not sure how old we were in the ultrasound, but judging by the fact that we were born two months premature, we almost definitely could have been legally aborted at the time. It's really weird to think about, but seeing these images frequently reminds me that every human being, no matter how small, deserves a chance at life.

This is a picture of my sisters, parents, and me from when I was a toddler. I think we are about two years old since our little sister was born when we were three. It is a miracle that we even made it to two years old, let alone seventeen. Born two months premature, we all spent weeks in the NICU. We were so small at birth that one of us could fit in my mom's hand. This was a very stressful time for our parents, and it took both of them and our grandparents to care for us. Everyone deserves the same amount of love and care that we have received from our family because we all share the same human dignity.

This is a picture of my siblings, grandpa, and I when we got to go on a trip with my grandparents. My grandpa was one of the most caring people I knew. He always was supporting my siblings and I in everything that we did, even though he lived four hours away. My siblings and I absolutely adored my grandpa because he was always playing games and tricks on us, teaching us how to do various things, and setting an example on how to live a good life. He treated every person he encountered with respect because he knew that everyone has something different going on in their lives that you don't know about. My grandpa was a very active man, playing golf everyday until the day he was diagnosed with small cell lung cancer in 2015. Because of his wonderful example that he set, my siblings and I know that we have to live everyday like he did, treating every person with the respect they deserve. His death was a reminder to my family to live everyday like your last and to be nice to everyone because you never know what will happen tomorrow.
