The prosthetics are used to create the wrinkles and sagging skin, while the makeup is used to create the color and texture of the skin

Here are some of the specific techniques that are used to create Hagrid's aging makeup:

Prosthetics: Wrinkles and sagging skin are created using silicone prosthetics. These prosthetics are applied to the face and neck, and then blended with the skin using makeup.

Makeup: A variety of makeup products are used to create the color and texture of the skin.

Gargamel is a fictional character in the film the Smurfs. He is a witch that hunts the smurf’s and is portrayed as an old man.He has a nose prosthetics, and uses a bald cap with a wig over to create the appearance of a receding hair line. Wrinkles are painted on using browns and natural foundations, to enhance the natural wrinkles. Hair is used for his eyebrows to make them look thick and bushy, adding to his witch character. The full makeover took the actor Frank Azaria 2 hours to get into character as the application required a chin and nose prosthetic application.

In the Harry Potter franchise the makeup artists apply prosthetics and flatten the nose to give the idea of the missing nose on the character. The deformation gives the character a more realistic approach and took the artist two hours on the film. Prosthetics were also applied over the actors eyebrows to match the bald head however the actor shaved his head for the role. The shade matched all the way down to the neck and matched the eyebrows and bald head.

Other than the prosthetics the Make Ul artist added veins by an airbrush to deepen the realism.

Mrs doubtfire was a father who lost custody of his kids so decided to dress up as a child minder. he turned himself into an old woman by using wig caps, wigs and aging makeup. they used prosthetic applications to create the sagging look of an old persons face. they used many layering and stippling techniques to create the iconic look we all know and love "mrs doubtfire". they made new prosthetics weekly to risk shrinking the prosthetics. "the process takes 3-3 1/2 hours on a good day and then 4-4 1/2 hours on a bad day", robin williams stated, he had to film for 10 hours after too !

To create the look of dumbledore i would need to use prosthetics and a beard to create this look. i would use the prosthetic to create the wrinkly old look. I think a key feature for this look is the wrinkles under the eyes and the huge beard.

to create the beard i would use spirit gum to glue down the beard hairs and try and make them as long as possible. i would create a full beard look as that is what dumbledore has.

His face features are dropped and wrinkles are covered around the face. You can see lighter eyebrows as all of the hair is a light grey to create an older look. His eyelids also sag over to inhance the old person look to create the character we see on television.

Elisabeth's makeup is a lot of liquid latex and added on layers of prosthetics to make it look like her face is more puffy and sallow and old, as her body is more aged after the effects of The Substance.

Prosthetics are done in order to age her face and make the layers more presentable on camera, but it's also placed over the neck and face to fatten and enlarge the wrinkles on her face and to make it so her face is hairless affected by the substance. Her mouth is also made more widened and fattened to look like it's more drooped and old.

Latex is also used to put a bald cap on and to attach it to the head, but to make the face have more wrinkles and look more older than usual. The actor's face was most likely stretched to give wrinkles to the face.

In the 1990 film The Witches, based on Roald Dahl's book, the transformation of the Grand Witch into her true form is one of the most memorable moments. The filmmakers used some special effects and makeup techniques to create the terrifying look of the witches.

Some of the key techniques used to transform the actress of Grand Witch:

Prosthetics and Makeup

- The most prominent technique used was heavy prosthetic makeup. Anjelica Huston wore a detailed prosthetic face mask to transform into the Grand Witch, featuring monstrous features like a sharp, elongated nose, bulging eyes, and a ridged, almost lizard texture to her skin.

- The makeup artists used foam latex prosthetics, which were molded to her face and painted with layers of detail to make the transformation look realistic. This allowed for the dramatic change from her human form to the witch form.

The child catcher has an obvious nose prosthetic and clear alters to the cheeks and forehead.

To create the nose I would use a prosthetic and apply it using latex and prosade, powdering after each layer.

To create the cheeks I would use either foam latex peices or wax on the skin to create defined cheek bones, to apply I would use an adhesive.

For the forehead I believe they have created it using a bald cap, so I would apply the bald cap like usual and use the ageing technique to create wrinkles.I believe the actor is wearing a wig as the forehead seems enlarged and the hair line is very far back.
