Throughout her entire life, she loved to help others, especially younger children. At the age of 12, she already volunteered at a Jewish General Hospital, doing as much as she possibly could. At the age of 17, she married Herbert Bronstein, and gave birth to 3 children, but adopted several more later in her life. She died at the age of 65 in Guatemala, where she was still helping children in need. First, it is very long lasting. To this day, children all around the world go to sleep hungry, are sick or have no education. Furthermore, this issue is very extreme. Without proper nourishment or healthcare, many are at risk to serious injury or death. According to food aid foundation, 1 in 6 children in the world is underweight due to poor nourishment. Every 10 seconds, a child dies of hunger. Finally, this issue impacts a huge portion of the world. Several countries (mostly developing) in the world today experience the same issue and all have very poor quality of life. Starving children and families are everywhere, in every country known. Since she was a child, she was completely outraged by the fact that there were starving, poor children living in the world. After her fourth child, Naomi and her husband attempted to adopted a fourth child, but when she found out how difficult it was to adopt an international child, she began her work. She flew out to Vietnam, attempting to save and free as many children as she could. Bronstein opened an orphanage in Phnom Penh known as Canada House, a shelter and safe house for hundreds of orphans. She also attempted to fly several orphans back to Canada, but unfortunately the plane she chose to carry them back with crashed, killing several of the orphans. However, this tragic event only strengthened her resolve, and she decided to dedicate her entire life to helping children. In 1976, she moved to Guatemala to help treat children that required proper healthcare.

First, a lack of education contributes significantly. If many children's parents do not have proper jobs due to a lack of knowledge, it is very likely that the child will not have proper nourishment and care. An unstable/corrupt economy also contributes to the issue, as the lack of proper jobs leads to severe poverty in many families. Services such as healthcare many also not be as sufficient or much more expensive if the economy is weak or corrupted. Naomi Bronstein may not have attempted to bring about change by strengthening the weaker economies, but she devoted her life to help any child that she possibly could. She donates a massive portion of her life to help others in need. Due to her determination to help aid children, she lost her marriage, as well as time with her own kids. Her own child, Brian Bronstein stated that “She lived a life of sacrifice, perhaps too many sacrifices.”. Furthermore, she "donated" money, as she had to build her very own orphanage and fly children out to Canada. Bronstein devoted her entire life to her work, showing that her entire life was donated to help children.

She also has a documentary named A Moment in Time: The United Colours of Bronstein, which was nominated for a Gemini Award in 2001.
