As our plane crashed, and all of the children were scattered across the island.  Our pilot is nowhere to be found, and the absence of the grown ups frightens me.  While on my search for the other kids, I met this rude boy named Ralph who won't stop calling me Piggy.  I hope that he stops calling me that crude nickname and calls me by my actual name.                    As we continued our search together, Ralph and I discovered a cream colored conch, and we used the sound to gather the others.  Thankfully, the other lost children flocked towards our music.  We convinced everyone to hold a meeting to sort out our situation, and the other kids elected Ralph as our leader.  In my opinion, I don't think his selection was due to any of his "charming" qualities, but likely because he was the only one who blew that summoning conch.  I will continue to linger around him and guide him with my advice, and I will do my best to enforce what the grown ups would.  I hope to make you proud Auntie.  

          We held another meeting today, or at least we tried to.  Ralph decreed that whoever is holding the conch should be the only one speaking, but I doubt that this was also inclusive to me.  I am the laughingstock of the group, and they always bully me.  They don’t let me speak my thoughts, which I’m sure would be really helpful if they just listened.  

I'm really anxious about how we're supposed to signal any rescue boats, and I believe this should be a top priority during our stay on this island.  Nobody knows we’re here, and we aren’t doing anything to notify them about it.  

In the end, they finally agreed to build a signal fire, and I think this is the best possible rescue method.  They only obviously listened because Ralph backed up the idea, but at least we’re getting somewhere.

         One of the boys, Jack, has an aggressive opinion of what we should be doing on our island.  He is here with a pitiful choir, and they’re going to be leading the hunting for food.  They will provide us with provisions.  Personally, I have a bad gut feeling about Jack, and he seems to have misplaced and wild motivations.  We need food, but they seem overly excited to hunt animals.  Ralph seems to get along fine with him, and they make a mediocre duo in leadership.

        They even stole my glasses to start a fire.  I'm writing blind right now, but the other kids used my spectacles and the sun to cause a spark.  Although I admit this was very smart, they have no order or organization in anything they do and everyone does everything how they want to. They make me so frustrated, and even the fire is now completely uncontrollable.  We've moved to shelter from it, but we’ve lost a kid.  I haven't seen that one little kid that I counted earlier, and we’ve been searching for him among ourselves.  Perhaps he is lost to the burning fire.

Nobody is following the goals that we planned out together.  They refuse to fulfill the roles we assigned, and from what I've heard, they've only done the fun things that they wanted to do.  Jack and his boys only want to hunt, how dumb is that?  They were in charge of the huts, but instead they went off to try to hunt a silly little pig.  They didn’t even end up catching it.  How will we ever be rescued with these idiots here like this.  Can our tiny community not pull ourselves together?  The little ones keep talking nonsense about a beast on the island, and I don't believe them.

I'm also taking back what I said about a friendship between Jack and Ralph.  They are on opposing sides of this situation and have come to a major disagreement in priorities.  The more they bicker, the discourse and discontent between our group swirls. Opposing sides want to do different things, and we hold no order.  To add to the flame, the little ones claim they saw a scary beast on the island.  They are just frightened children spreading silly rumors to scare everyone else.  

          The little ones are getting on my nerves.  There is no "beastie"!  Why do they have to create an unnecessary scare for all the other children as well.  Everyone and everything is slowly unraveling not according to plan.  

Jack and his crew prance around in “glory”.  They act with no logic or thought in mind.  Just because the grown ups are not present, does not mean we should be running wild.  Jack left to hunt with some weird war-paint mud on his face.  Screaming something about killing an animal.  This wild behavior is not how we should be acting.  It’s frankly unsettling behavior, and if the grown ups were to see us right now they would be ashamed.

They were the ones put in charge of tending the signal fire, but they went off to play.  There was a ship, but the fire had died due to Jack’s lack of responsibility.  We missed our opportunity because of some silly hunting.

           Ralph had to reprimand everyone today.  Ralph and I both agree that our first priority should be maintaining a steady signal fire.  Instead, everyone does not take part in their assigned responsibilities.  We all have to work together to survive as long as possible and get rescued, and in order for this they need a rational sense.  

         They're all going a bit mad, and the little ones keep chattering on about that beast on the island.  I don't want this rumor to panic our group, because it's just silly imagination.  If we just shut up and get things done, maybe we would make it off the island together.

        Ralph has some sense in order, but he is concerned about his authority and is debating giving up his role as leader. Can you believe that? Jack running us all mad and wild?  His leadership methods would surely kill us all.  I hope that never happens in time, please come help us soon.

            They laugh at Ralph’s authority, and his reasons to care for the fire.  Have we all forgotten our main goal is to be rescued?  Our leader, Ralph, is trying to save us, but their child’s play will get us nowhere if nobody cooperates with the voice of reason.

It's the middle of the night right now.  Sam and Eric woke us up in a fright, and they claim they saw the beast.  I'm reluctant to believe them, but the others went to go "hunt" for it.  I'm staying behind to look over the younger children.

           If this beast is real, then this is a problem for us.  If it turns out to be made up nonsense, we are wasting our time.  The longer we stay on this island, the further our humanity and sense slip from our grasp.  We have to get out.

             Ralph came home from their hunting expedition for the Beast.  He told me everything happened, and the events caused me much concern.  Less about the beast, but more of the internal struggle of humanity and the thing we can become on this island.  When Ralph reiterated what happened, his eyes gleamed of bloodlust and savagery.  It’s a scary look, and not one I like on our sensible leader.
  The hunt for the beast was sidetracked, and they had mistaken a boar for the beast.  With Jack as their ringleader, every single person in the group was drawn to kill the poor animal.  I swear I heard the creepy chant from the bottom of the mountain.  "Kill the beast! Cut its throat!"  The slaughter of the boar only flamed their savagery.  

                The boys came back because they claimed to have seen another appearance from the mysterious beast.  It was probably just a shadow or silhouette that they exaggerated.

             Alas! Jack left us.  He was upset when the others refused to vote Ralph out as leader and reassign the role to him.  He was stupid enough to declare his departure, and he probably won’t even be able to survive out there all alone.  Ralph thinks we should stick together, but I think this is a positive step in our future.  

            A few kids snuck off to join him, but they are the cowards.  How bad can it be without the weak among us?  Sure, we could use some hunters for meat, but we can just live off the fruit on the island.  How bad could it be?  I can't seem to find Simon anywhere...He probably ran off to play?

             I believe we just murdered Simon.  It was an accident! Nobody could tell that it was him, and we had all mistaken him for a beast.  The savages ripped him to shreds, as if they were wild beings hunting for food.  What have we become? What has this island turned us into?

            The more people Jack continues to add to his crew, the further our grasp in the rules of society slips.

                   The chief and his tribe attacked us last night, taking my glasses with them.  We are truly doomed.  The one dependent thing our little group was good for was keeping the signal fire alive.  Don't they realize that by taking away our ability to keep fire, they are pulling us all down with them?  Me, Ralph, and the twins Sam and Eric are the only sensible ones left.  Even so, I'm sure that the twins are tempted to join Jack's wild tribe now as well.  This will be my last entry in this blog.  Wish us well, as I have given up on us.

                 It's bad.  We attempted an intrusion on Jack's base, and I was hoping to lure a few sensible kids back to my group.  They started throwing rocks at us, and I tried to make them understand why we still needed Piggy's glasses.  They refused to listen to my plea, and Jack ignored my reasoning.  

                 A fight broke out, and they captured Sam and Eric!  I couldn't see much, but through the struggle I saw Piggy get hit by a rock shoved by Roger, and he fell  over the edge.  He's dead, and even the conch is in pieces.  I don't know what to do without Piggy or the conch guiding me.  This is bad, we're so dead.

                The utter lack of humanity in these savages, and the wild beings that the chief has turned them into is horrid.  I cannot wrap my brain around why we have become this.  We went from drinking out of coconut shells to wildly murdering every living thing.  I'm currently in this cluster of trees, hoping to avoid the others.  This is my desperate end.  Jack has set the island on fire in an attempt to smoke me out.  Even if they find me, we're all burning to death anyway.  May we find peace on death's shore, and authority to guide us.
