We began this semester with talking about how reading is so much more than we normally think of. I created my first reading response to bring awareness to how we read and analyze texts many times in our everyday lives.

"The Maker" was the first discussion assignment with our discussion groups, and I think it was one of my favorite. "The Maker" is a complex video with multiple interpretations. There are no words, so readers are left having to feel the music and pay attention to details the artist makes on screen.

For my mini lesson, I chose to focus on helping students support their thesis with the evidence provided. This is a crucial part of the writing process that I have seen students struggle with and it is something I have struggled with too.

Jenna and I chose the text "The Danger of a Single Story" for our lesson plan. I normally would not have chosen a video as a text, but this semester I've been trying to be more open minded on what we teach our students. We also chose to include a popular song to help students see how dangerous a single story can really be.

This was an assignment I was really proud of. "We Real Cool" was a poem we talked about in my introduction to poetry class, and I was really excited to use it in a lesson of my own.

As far as discussion assignments go, they are something that have caused me a lot of stress as a student. "Save the Last Word for Me" is one that gets all of the students involved in groups, forces them to listen to other opinions, and it is low stakes.

This document is proof of the entire learning objective. This is where I have taken notes on many peer-reviewed research and articles on how reading and writing has been used in classrooms and ideas for future use.

I used this document throughout the semester to hold my thoughts, direct quotes, and questions from the readings. In addition, it is where the brainstorming for many discussion boards, assignments, and reading responses happened. I am very proud of this document, because I think in the future, I will be able to go back and look at the readings I have done and use them in my future classroom.

This learning objective is another one that I am finding hard picking just one or two examples of my work. Almost every assignment of this course involved a new type of media or way to teach students. We used tweets, a 3-2-1 strategy, finding a "golden line" using video responses, Jamboard, VoiceThread, surveys, and word clouds. I have so many more tools in my toolbox after this course that I am excited to use in the future. I even have a couple of lessons that I could teach!

This is another one of the assignments that I am most proud of this semester. Maybe it is because I really love poetry, but nonetheless. I was able to introduce new poetry vocabulary words not only through words, but through pictures, and through a poem called "Introduction to Poetry."

This was another poem we used in my poetry class, and getting to take something I have learned as a student and prepare it for my future students is something that I find really cool about teaching!

I would give myself an A for my hard work in LTC 4560 this semester. Not only did I learn a lot semester, I tried my best each week to put all of my effort into our assignments. I viewed the weekly overview video each night on Sunday, made a to-do list of what needed to be done for the week, and reached out with any questions I had. I tried my best to communicate with you and with my group members for discussion boards or group lessons with any problems that occurred in a professional and timely manner.

All of my assignments were turned in on time and with the best quality I could. The assignments throughout this semester, and specifically the ones on this Padlet are the ones I am the most proud of. I do not think I would have imagined how many types of reading and writing there could be other than the traditional ways. However, I know now that we read everyday and all of the time. We also write all of the time, whether it is for our personal lives (like texting) or for school. I am very proud of myself for how far I have come this semester and of the work I did.
