I learned that there are different techniques that could be applied, such as the mixing of colors upon the canvas itself, to create a melding of colors. Each painting symbolizes a different context and intention behind each artwork. An example of this is the purpose of Baroque paintings, which is to share in the spread of the Catholic faith during the Counter-Reformation era.

Not only did we learn how to appreciate the skills of the masters in painting, we learned of the elements that encompassed the skills of the masters. These elements would be the key to finishing a composition that is worthy of the highest praise.

An example of this is the impact of Baroque paintings, as they are the tools of the Catholic Church to spread the faith. While this era may be a well-defined example of what the fine arts are like within the Baroque, our discussion barely went into its implications to the human person.
