The rubric needs to be completely redone.

There should be a training on how to do and judge them but I think the rubric should be fixed first.

Make it visual. Like put sticky notes on the wall under your name each time you judge a book. Some ways to have accountability. Or judging in teams of 2.

Rubric Goals... If they are just missing one aspect of SMART... have a way to score where they don't have to be taken all the way down to needs improvement.

Need something in the rubric to reflect when they have more than the allotted 9 photos per photo page. Nothing about that on the current photo part of the rubric.

Two areas to be looked at....

Depth should be more about "did you get your hands dirty" or just donate items. The sizes of the groups really doesn't matter, it's just if the kids got invested.

Progress - are they doing more this year than past? Is there growth?

There needs to be a way to award 0 points if they don't have any info on the page.

For Elected/Appointed leadership section, there should be less emphasis on committees. Kids may have held multiple elected roles but not served on any committees.

For correct use of grammar and spelling section on rubric, add punctuation to that list.

There should be different rubric sections for formatting and content. I know that would make the rubric more complicated, but it would be nice to be able to mark them separately for correct content but incorrect formatting (or vice versa) for any particular section.

Too many categories on rubric, I think streamlining and only including what is really important and relevant to project and growth over time.

verify the governors award rules before judging. maybe have those judges set aside early so they can review those rules too

score sheet can be confusing as it doesn't match the info in the books. Or there is no option for books that dont have all the sections in there.
