I chose this song because in the lyrics it says "the sun is shining, the weather is sweet" and while he's with his cousin Sofia around where she lives he's out a lot and playing baseball and going out and seeing the outside world and he's enjoying himself.

I choose the song "Half-Breed" by Cher - because this song touches on themes of mixed heritage and the challenges of fitting into society's expectations and the novel explores themes of identity, race, and belonging through the story of a mixed-race Mexican-American teenager named Danny. "Half-Breed" compare to the book by addresses the challenges of being of mixed heritage and the struggle to find acceptance and belonging in society.
