This part surprised me because earlier I didn't expect Sean would sneak off and go back to get his phone just to let his mother know he is okay.If he did that the buses and he has to run for his life because the smoke will make cough a lot and the fire can burn him to death. It is hard for him to survive if the water was burned he can't drink it or he cannot find water and without food he will be hungry . That is why this part surprised me a lot.

Chapter 1 is about a kid who moves into Greenwhich with his dad and step monster aka his step mother named Louise who drops the kid off at school. The baby was throwing up so the step monster had to leave the kid on the bench at school saying she will be back in 10 or 15 minutes. The step monster does not show up so the kid registers in herself and finds out she has the other kids paper that got mixed up when a kid who was driving crazy hit the backpack and all the papers scattered she asks kids were to go and they tell her to go to the unteachables class. She goes there to see kids roasting marshmallows in the trash bin!

Page 6 suprised me because in the book it talked about how there were no tornado warnings, which suprised me because they book is called "Night of the Twisters". This makes me think that the report is wrong. It also stated "Arthur and I had big plans that tusday." So maybe when he's doing his plans with Arthur a tornado or tornados will strike. Another reason page 6 suprised me is because the book stated "Mom talked back to him, poking another spoonful of cereal into my baby brothers smiling mouth." This shows that Dan has a baby brother, and on the cover it shows Dan holding a baby. Also this leads me to think that the baby brother is Arthur because my other prediction was that a tornado hits when Dan is doing his plans with Arthur. On the cover you don't see anyone else but Dan holding "Arthur" with a tornado in the background. So those are the 2 reasons why page 6 chapter 1 of "Night of the Twisters" suprised me.

so we first learn about this girl named Kiana who is now going to Greenwich. Her mom got a role in a movie so she had to live with her dad and stepmom .In the first few sentenses she talks about how annoying it is to have a baby crying in the car and a mad stepmom as they get there the baby throws up in the car .Stepmom drops off Kiana and tells her to stay there until she cleans the car .Kiana waits and waits until she sees a 14 year old driving a car !!! She jumps up and hides under a bench but her stuff goes flying all over the place . the boy who's name is Parker he gets every paper and book .He puts the stuff back on the bench maybe mixing some of his papers . Afue seconds later Kiana and Parker meet. Kiana does not like that Parker has his license since he's only 14 but Parker explains why he has a license and they both walk in to school . kiana goes to the office to see if she can jet her schedule but a few moments later the teacher there takes Parker's schedule out of her backpack without looking at it and grons "this is yours" Kiana goes with it and walks down to room 117 she notices its all in doors she says"in my old school once your out of the clase you see all sunshine " Kiana sees room 117 and opens the door and sees.Afue kids roasting marsh mellow on a pencil over a bucket and there was fire in the bucket to roast the marsh mellow!!!

The theme I am noticing in the story UGLY, is "Don't judge a book by it's cover". I think this because his mom judged Robert by the way he looked. I know this because on page #8 the text stated: every time she was asked if she wanted to leave the mothers ward to go see her baby in intensive care, her answer was the same: no. It also reads:"I wished he would go away or die or something". "Worse than that, mom had decided she wanted to leave me in the hospital." I think that everyone should be given the opportunity even if you don't fit or look what others consider to be the "norm". In this book the Author was judged by his mother just by the way he looked. She did not give herself or him an opportunity to form a bond. This chapter surprised me because I didn't think a mother could be capable of rejecting her child without giving each other a chance I think this because parent are suppose to love their child with open hands. Also, I am noticing the theme in this chapter in UGLY is "Don't judge a book by it's cover."

He used green construction paper to make palm trees and put them on the kids desks.Then in 4th grade he and his friend Janet made blackbird noises in class. I thought the beginning was interesting and original but also sad and it made me think of real life. I think this because on chapter one, it was very original compared to other books. the way it started in art class and clay sculpting reminded me of myself because I like clay. There also was a kid that didn't like somebody because they're better than them, which also happens in real life. Everything in that fist part made me relate to real life. But in the second part of chapter 1, it made me feel sad because people should never want someone to go away or die. it's also sad to think that there are kids out there that just don't get a chance. In chapter 2 also made me feel sad because his parents didn't want to take him home so they just left him there. they thought he didn't stand a chance and they said things like "I didn't feel anything for this baby" and "I had shut off completely. I made up my mind I was not taking him home." but when I thought it would go bad, A surgeon said "We can do alot to help fix robert" which made me feel happy again. That is why those pages made me feel sad but they were interesting and original.

I'm surprised that Dan lives in an area wear tornadoes are because on the first page it says 513 homes and 60 businesses had been destroyed. In addition 450 homes and 15 were damaged. Radar indicated that it hit Grand Island were touched off by a thunderstorm cell at least 35 miles wide that formed shortly before 8 P.M. Dan also explains there are red letter days and black letter days. The red letter days are when you get good luck. He told about a red letter day when he won a prize after being seventy ninth place in a race where he won $500 in cash and prizes. Then he started to tell us about black letter days which are the opposite. He wishes there was some kind of warning for these days.

He got suspended because he hit a boy in the nose. Brandon wasn't wanting to talk about it though. In the distance on the Manhattan bridge they saw the two massive towers of the World Trade Center it was hard to miss. Brandon and his dad got off at their stop. Brandon wished he could have gone back in time to switch his decision. Brandon frowned as he and his dad got on the escalator because his dad kept talking about he hitting the boy on the nose. Brandon picture in his head where to go to the Sam Goody store in the mall. They got to the lobby at the North Tower of the World Trade Center. A security guard gave Brandon a temporary ID card with his full name and the date saying September 11, 2001. His dad said let's go upstairs. Then the chapter ended.

In chapters 4,5,and 6 I was shocked to learn that there were 2 more Swastikas discovered on the baseball team banner and on the dumpster! I think that it’s super suspicious that Michael’s dad had the same material that he uses for work as the 2nd Swastika drawn. It was also really crazy how Pounceys dad and grandfather were racist like the Swastika drawer. Pounceys clearly ashamed of his father and grandfathers involvement in the KKK. In these chapters we learn that the KKK had a strong presence in the town in the past.

In chapter 8 in "UGLY" it relates to my life because just like Robert I once learned how to ride my bike. When reading page 59 it says that Robert crashed into a bush. Well I remembered when I first learned how to ride my bike without training wheel I was so nervous but excited. Just like Robert I was so excited to know I was able to do this but suddenly I made a wrong turn, was not able to get control of the bike and I crashed into the bushes. This part of the book brought me to that time. I laughed and so did my dad, but I was a bit scratched like Robert but my excitement and adrenaline was so high that I did not feel any bruise and bumps at the time. This is the reason this chapter made me feel like I could relate to my first time ridding a bike without training wheels.

The characters Arthur and Ryan are very different/similar characters because Ryan is a baby and Arthur is a kid. Another difference is Ryan has lighter skin than Arthur, and because Ryan is a baby Arthur is taller than Ryan. A similarity is that they are both main characters. I know this because Arthur is in all the chapters like Ryan. Another similarity is that they are both close to Dan. Dan is Arthur's best friend and Ryan's older brother. The last reason why I think this is Dan's mom is annoyed by Ryan because he causes her stress and takes lots of time. Dan's mom is not annoyed by Arthur because he helps around the house and keeps Dan busy.

this book is getting very interested this book because they are all alone which is very cool to me.I'm also happy because now the exciting part.He also is a saviour by protecting Ryan in the shower.But I would not wan't Dan's mom because she went to help out an elderly woman rather than protecting two twelve year olds and her baby.It's kind of dumb and not dumb to look for your family like the storm won't ignore you man.Also two twelve year old are just surviving when many older people die the logic please.another thing is the story never made it clear if it was a cat till one of the last pages.

In chapter 8 Nick Allen took class pictures for the class.That's when Nick whispered in everyone's ear to say frindle not cheese during the class pictures.When the photographer said to say cheese everyone said "FRINDLE"! 6 of The teachers were not happy and Mrs.Granger was furious and the whole school started to know about the new word.Mrs.Granger made a rule if you say the word frindle you have to write the sentence that she wrote 100 times and every single day there would be at least 20 kids after school.

When I read chapter 13 it made me feel sad because Robert wanted to play Rugby, everyone in his family played a sport but because of his disability his parents did not allow him, they protected him from a possible injury. I know this because on page 105 is stated "that everyone in his family was involved in sports one way or another." Page 106 also states " Mom and Dad were under instructions from my doctors to avoid knocks to my head. Surgeons didn't want a forearm or a foot undoing all their good work. Neither did my parents." This makes me believe that he was not allowed to play sports due to his medical condition or disability. When ready this chapter it made me think how fortunate I am to be able to play sports. In ready this chapter I felt sad that Robert was not able to do something that might have been so important to him.

When they were looking for the camp the fire was catching up and was not stoping! So then they run and when they were runing ... they find the camp! And then they start to find the jeep and they found the jeep but then they fall of a cliff so did the jeep and the glass of the jeep brock and then when sam tryed to turn on the jeep it wouldn't turn on because the battery was weak and thats one of the parts to turn on the jeep. So then when they found the extra battery they put it in the jeep and they were right on time because the fire was catching up and would go faster because of the wind would make it faster. Next they were driving away from the fire and then Sam would climb a perfect tree to climb so they can locate the fire and see ow fast it's going. Then sam hears a scream for Dalphy then end the chapters.

Sam and Delphy finally found gas for the jeep at the survival camp. They where so excited to go home but then they run into a problem. At the bottom of the hill there is a 4 foot drop so they spend the day building a inclined plane to get the jeep to the other side. When they turn on the radio Phat Freddy Bell was saying his goodbyes to all his family and radio listeners there was sadness and worry in his voice. Sam and Delphy try to sleep and hope tomorrow is the day they go home.

In Chapter 15 it talks about how Nick turns 21 years old and for his birthday his teacher Mrs Granger sends him a gift to congratulate him for getting his word "Frindle" added to the dictionary, along with a special note and pen from ten years ago. So for Christmas that year Nick surprised Mrs. Granger by giving one million dollars to her scholarship and a brand new pen. This gave her a big smile on her face. That's how Nick loved his teacher Mrs Granger!!

In chapter 12 it surprised me that in a children's book it is talking about money and real world situations that can happen. This surprised me because in the beginning it is like a normal realistic-fiction book but the more you read on ( Chapter 12) you notice the words get more vivid and the book get more intense over all. This happened in chapter 12 when Bud Lawrence pretty much bribes Mr. Allen to sign the contract when he bribes him with money which is pretty realistic when like in real life one rich person with lots of money will bribe someone with less money to get something they want for little money compared to what they got. Which all of which surprises me a lot for a fiction book.

In this chapter, I was interested because he still played lawn bowls even though he had a disability. To start, Robert had to go into a different stance because he doesn't have a knee so he couldn't stand in the proper stance. I know this because in the text it stated "Normally players would bend both knees and step forward as they released the bowl. My left leg had no a knee."

Chapter four is when Branden successfully made it out of the elevator but the others didn't. So Branden ran around and noticed something weird. There was no smoke in the room he was in. But he had to keep running to save the others. Branden made it to a place and found people. Branden shouted that he needed help. They said where and he ran to show them. soon after Branden made it to the elevator. The people he found opened a fire extinguisher case and pulled out a axe. They told Branden to back up and he swung the axe. Pieces started falling and one by one they all left. Thankfully right after they all left the elevator collapsed down to the bottom. Then the chapter ended. I wonder what will happen next.

In these chapters i've read, I learned that 11 more swastikas have been drawn! It was also very crazy that ReelToks car got towed away while he was filming and he didn't even care, he just recorded it the entire time while it was getting towed! Another thing is that so many people are suspected as some one who drew the swastika! One more crazy thing in this book is that ReelTok knows so many people in the ChokeCherry middle school!

In the beginning of the chapter Nick and Janet missed the bus so they had to walk home. So they did a challenge last one to fall off the curb wins.Then Janet saw something shiny, it was a gold pen just sitting on the road. She got off the curb to get it and Nick said "I got three points." Janet picked up the pen and brought it home with her. They still had one more street until they where home this time they where racing and Nick was in the lead. They went to make a turn and Janet yelled "NO FAIR." Nick was so far ahead that he easily won the race. Then when they got home they played outside together.

This part surprised me because earlier I didnt expect him to Robert to make a list of top ten names his was called. The first name he was called "Toothpick Legs" this you can find on page 127. Out of all the ten names he he was called, his favorite was " Transformer". I know this because on page 132 it says "Probably my favorite of all nicknames in school." This proves it was his favorite nickname he was called in his school. I honestly don't think he really like any of them it was just that this one was not so hurtful. Calling anyone by their disabilities is cruel and is consider bullying. He use this as a mechanic defense factor. This is why this chapter surprised me.
