    Classical Arab music is extremely popular across the population. 
    Belly dance is referred to as Arabic dance which emphasizes complex movements of the torso. Many boys and girls in countries where belly dancing is popular will learn how to do it when they are young. 
    Most Arab countries did not produce films before independence. Even till now, censorship still plays a huge role in the movie industry. In most Arab countries, film projects must first pass a state committee, which grants or denies permission to shoot. Once this permission is obtained, another official license, a so-called visa, is necessary in order to exploit the film commercially.
