A lot of native peoples were taken their land, and forced onto their reservations. It means they ignored the many cultural difference between their peoples.
    There were many kinds of languages for each native tribes, so it is difficult for one tribe to talk with other tribes. And different nations had very different customs.

Students have their own identity and background  which is different from others. If teachers didn't notice one aspect of one student, can they support their studying appropriately?? 1) ている。、ています。
We joined a class. That class was about Japanese grammar "ている、ています". It is so difficult I thought. The teacher used a song to learn the inflection of Japanese word, it is similar to the way of learning English for us. The teacher try to teach them with powerpoint slides. I thought students can understand easily, because the slides were very simple and there are a lot of picture so easy to see!!
It was really fun!
2) Bento side dishes
It was so interesting to learn Japanese with the Japanese word of bento's side dishes. We talked with EWU students about the difference between Japanese lunch style and American ones. I got alot of new things! for example, in America "lunchables" is famous and popular because they are really easy to make.

These classes were also the chances to make new friends and talk!! We got wonderful friends in this class. I'm so glad to see them!! They told us their stories. They all felt more uncomfortable than straight people. They have their own different suffering. I had not realized that airports are uncomfortable place for them, but I understood after I got their stories.
They were wondering who they are. I can't imagine how stressful. I asked Alex "How can teachers help students who have LGBTQ+ identities?" Teachers and students are on very different positions, but he said that it is important for teachers to listen to them on same ground. And Kenny said that the first thing we can do is asking and thinking that question always.
Afternoon we observed the LGBTQ+ studies. Students decided theme from books, articles, movies, TV programs and so on. We listen to their programs. It was so interesting. And I was so surprised at the way of class disccussion. Students raised their hand and stated their opinion freely. We don't have that type of classes. Gender Identity : It depends on their mind, for example if someone thinks that I am a man, his gender identity is male even though his body is like female.

[intersex]
Intersex people are born with several variations in sex characteristics. And sometimes they have the both function male and female. Caster Semenya who is  a track and field player is the example of intersex people for us.
She is a intersex person and great runner, but she can't run in some competition including the Olympics. Because The amount of teststorone she has beyond the standard value. So she cannot perform in Tokyo Olympic in 2020 unless she get surgery. It's not equal.

This is my first visitting Aemrica, so all things were inspiring for me. I learned American culture including Native American issues and LGBTQ+ issues a lot. They were so fresh things for me. I learned domething new from them. And I got golden opportunities which I can't experience usually. It was really nice. I think my perspective got broader than ever, and I can make use of these wonder ful experiences when I study to be an English teacher. The most important things I learned is not having prejudice and considering how people feel whenever I do something. There many people who have different culture, background, race, identity, way of thinking and so on. The key of peace is having open-minded I thought.
And I met a lot of new friends and teachers in the EWU. They are my treasure. I got to know how fun to talk with other people. Although we were total strangers for them, they kindly helped us do many things. I am really happy to meet them.
