I would make one of the corners flat and so the project could rest of that particular face. The faces each represent a Chinese element, and also wind. The faces are each carved to look like a representation of the element and also the Chinese character indicating the element portrayed. The elements are: Wood, Fire, Wind, Water, Earth, and Metal. The lid is the opposite corner from the base cut off from the rest.
  Some challenges I ran into while making it include balance, structure and glaze quality. Obviously, balancing a cube on a small face made from one of its corners is difficult. Because it was made while soft, the base was deformed, and balance thereafter was difficult to achieve. Another problem was the structure. The fire face was made while wet, and my hand pressed the face in. I tried to fix the indention on the lid, but I ended up offsetting the lid and the base, making the lid sliding off many times. There were many cracks and the overall greenware was not made well. The glazing was done poorly and the coats are uneven.
