Since Donald Trump has become president again, he has introduced some controversial policies, especially related to immigration. Since 2016 he's been talking about the wall in the Mexico border. He is trying to stop birth right citizenship aswell which many people disagree with since ever since the constitution was written, birth right citizenship has existed. Trump also has banned entrants from many majority Muslim nations for no valid reason whatsoever, i disagree with most of the policies and say he shouldn't target non white people so much also since ICE now has the ability to racially profile people just because of how they look which should not be allowed.

Supreme Court lets Trump end deportation protections for 300,000 Venezuelans

On October 3 2025, The Supreme Court allowed the Trump administration to not protect the deportations of 300,000 Venezuelans. These things were originally granted because of the political and economical situation in Venezuela. The end of their protection can lead to them being deported. This may effect people were being protected by the TPS. This is important because it is going to impact the lives of thousands of Venezuelan immigrants in the United States that were being protected by the TPS. The long term consequences for the people of Venezuela facing this problem. This makes me feel concern and empathy. Concerned because it makes me think about the people and what would happen to them. I feel empathy because most of these people have children and now they have to deal with deportation and worrying about where they have to when they get to Venezuela and probably suffer just to get their life back when they get to Venezuela.

Israel’s latest attacks on Gaza began on Oct. 7, 2023 after Palestinians from Gaza carried out attacks in Israel that killed at least 1,200 Israelis, injured thousands more, and took an estimated 240 hostages. when about 200,000 of the more than 700,000 Palestinians who fled or were expelled from their homes settled in the Gaza Strip as refugees. Israel has destroyed or damaged 90% of all homes in Gaza and has blocked most food, water, medicine, and other lifesaving aid from entering Gaza. People are dying of starvation and disease. The Palestinians seek to establish their own independent state in at least one part of historic Palestine. Israeli defense of its own borders, control over the West Bank, the Egyptian-Israeli blockade of the Gaza Strip, and Palestinian internal politics currently make the Palestinians' goal out of reach. Others sought to draw focus to the plight of Gaza, where more than 67,000 Palestinians have been killed and those who remain face severe hunger and to condemn Israel and those who have supported its actions there.

Trump Fires Black Officials From an Overwhelmingly White Administration

Over the last 200 days this year, Trump fired multiple Black Officials from the government and replaced them with White Officials. Robert E. Primus, the first Black chairman of the federal Surface Transportation Board, was fired by Trump via email, even though he had expected to continue his term. The White House later said Primus was removed because he didn’t “align” with the president’s agenda. Of the president’s 98 Senate-confirmed appointees to the administration’s most senior leadership roles in its first 200 days, ending on Aug. 7, only two, or 2 percent — Scott Turner, the secretary of Housing and Urban Development, and Earl G. Matthews, the Defense Department’s general counsel — are Black. A White House spokesman, Kush Desai, rejected criticism that Mr. Trump was undermining Black Americans. But he did not address the lack of diversity in appointments. Mr. Trump also informed Ms. Wilcox in a late-night email on Jan. 27 that she was being removed from her position on the labor relations board, effective immediately. No cause was given. It was the beginning of the administration’s test of the boundaries of the president’s power over independent agencies.

For Homes by the Water, Closing Just Got More Complicated

This article is about people buying homes near the water, real estate agents, insurance companies, and the federal government. It focuses on how the government shutdown affected regular people who were trying to buy homes in areas that can flood. The U.S government shut down, which caused the National Flood Insurance Program to stop working for a while. This program helps people get flood insurance if their homes are in a flood zone. Many home buyers were about to close on houses near the water, but their deals got delayed or cancelled because they couldn't get flood insurance during the shutdown. Some people had to buy private flood insurance which is much more expensive than the federal program. Real estate agents and lenders said this problem could hurt the housing market in coastal areas like Florida, Texas and Louisiana where lots of homes. This issue took place on October 9, 2025 during the time of the federal government shutdown. This story is important because it shows how a government shutdown can hurt regular people, not just politicians or federal workers. Many families were ready to move into their new homes but now they have to wait or pay extra money because they can't get flood insurance. It also shows how much the housing market depends on government programs. It reminds people that climate change and rising sea levels make flood insurance more important than ever for homes near water.

President Donald Trump’s long quest for a Nobel Peace Prize has sparked an unusual global scramble. He is eager to win the Nobel Peace Prize, citing his efforts to resolve global conflicts. His pursuit of the prize has influenced international diplomacy, with some leaders nominating him for the award. Critics argue his tactics create conflicts with Nobel traditions. He also believed since he settled 7 wars and almost an 8th, he states, “I don’t think anybody in history settled that many. But perhaps they’ll find a reason not to give it to me.” Trump also said last week if he doesn’t win, “it’ll be a big insult to our country, I will tell you that.”

The main points are:

-the impact of Trump's Nobel Peace Prize pursuit on international diplomacy.

-how Trump's public campaign for the prize deviates from Nobel traditions.

-the controversies surrounding Trump's claims of resolving global conflicts.

To conclude, the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize was rewarded to María Corina Machado, meaning Trump didn't win it; this left him in shock.

A new survey showed that a lot of teenage boys are seeing videos online that promote toxic masculinity and harmful ideas. Experts say this type of content can change how boys view women, relationships, and even their own emotions. Platforms like TikTok and YouTube often recommend these videos making it harder for boys to avoid them. Parents and Teachers are being encouraged to talk to boys about what they are watching online and how it might affect them. The story was published October 8, 2025, and this is mostly happening in the United States even though teenage boys all around the world use and get easily influenced by social media.

The White House announced on Friday that it had started to conduct another round of layoffs targeting federal workers, forging ahead with President Trump’s threats to cut agencies and cull the government work force during the shutdown. in a social media post Russell Vought the white house Budget director said the "RIFs have begun" probably referring to reduction in-force notice that informs federals employees about pending dismissals this would include "nonessential" workers they are placed under unpaid leave prohibited from working and do not receive a pay check during the shut down. Some government employee are required to continue reporting back to work without pay because they are considered essential for public safety a small number of federal employees are exempt from the shut down and continue to work and be paid this would also induced workers whose salaries are funded by sources other then annual congressional appropriation. Mr. Vought did not specify how many workers, or at which agencies, would be cut at a moment when hundreds of thousands are furloughed and others are still reporting for duty without pay. But a White House official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, described the forthcoming cuts as substantial The administration’s efforts to fire federal workers came a day after Mr. Trump threatened to seize on the government shutdown to make major cuts at what he has described as Democratic agencies. Unions representing federal workers have sued in federal court to challenge the legality of any layoffs.

Government a shut down update as the Senate failed to break the 7th round of votes.

The shutdown happened because Republicans and Democrats could not agree to pass a bill funding government services into October and beyond, and this disagreement led to the shut down and due to the shut down there were many protest and it's still happening to this day people do not like the fact that this is happening and that this might affect a lot of middle class and lower classes poorly. Due to the government shutting down this could affect a lot of peoples health, work environments, income, and more. Under the US system, the different branches of government have to reach an agreement on spending plans before they can become law.

The Republicans currently control both chambers of Congress. But in the Senate - or upper chamber - they are short of the 60 votes needed to pass the spending bill, which gives opposition Democrats some negotiating power.

They want to see an extension of expiring tax credits which make health insurance cheaper for millions of Americans, and for a reversal of Trump's cuts to Medicaid, a government healthcare programmed used by millions of elderly, disabled and low-income people.

Democrats also oppose spending cuts to government health agencies.

A stopgap bill designed to avoid the shutdown was passed in the House, or lower chamber, but did not clear the Senate.

"Sudan's Civil War has faded from headlines, but monitors say it's humanitarian crisis in the world"

Sudan is currently in a Civil War, but this tragedy is not hitting mainstream media, making it hard to spread awareness towards all the suffering Sudan's people are going through. Aid is not getting into Sudan and it's taking weeks for some aid to be sent because of the frontlines within Sudan. Hundreds of thousand of people are being displaced in El Fasher and are in Massive refugee camps. The Civil War started on April 15, 2023, but nothing has changed, in fact in Sudan it's getting worse. In El Fasher, the city has endured over 500 hundred days of siege, cut off from food, medicine or a safe exit. Many citizens have been found malnourished , starved, and with gunshot wounds, with barely any aid provided to them. Women are being raped and abused, bombings are killing many people, markets and hospitals are being attacked, thousands of children are also getting displaced from their homes, but the media passes by the horrendous acts happening in Sudan.

The article is about people of Ukraine the Ukrainian government, and the Russian military forces involved in the ongoing conflict., The article reports that Russia has launched a new wave of missile and drone attacks across several Ukrainian cities., Ukrainian officials state that critical infrastructure, including power plants and hospitals, have been damaged., Peace talks between Ukraine and Russia have stalled, with both sides blaming each other for the lack of progress., International organizations are calling for increased humanitarian aid to help civilians affected by the fighting., This story took place in early June 2024, with the latest attacks occurring on June 5th., The events are occurring in multiple cities across Ukraine, including Kyiv, Kharkiv, and Odessa., his story is important because it highlights the ongoing humanitarian crisis and instability caused by the war, which affects millions of people and has global political and economic implications., I wonder what steps international leaders are taking to encourage peace negotiations, and how ordinary Ukrainians are coping with daily life during the conflict., I feel concerned and saddened by the continued violence and suffering faced by civilians. It is troubling that peace seems so far away despite international efforts.

On October 9 Trump campaigned for reelection in part on vow of retribution. He congratulated ABC and disparaged Kimmel, claiming Kimmel had "zero talent". This important because it shows the current state of the nation and the uncontrolled power of the president and his attack on people that oppose his views. It show political retaliation. Also this article has to do with personally because it represents a future where presidents can go after their opponents and that is how a dictator starts.
