Vygotsky sociocultural theory resonates with me the most. I think scaffolding and the zone of proximal development are important in a child’s development and learning. I believe children are able to do and learn anything with proper guidance and instruction. Understanding the ZPD and how to scaffold allows teachers to give the proper instruction to students.

Vygotsky’s Sociocultural Theory resonates most with me because I believe it is important for teachers and parents to help children by scaffolding certain skills to achieve the ZPD. Social interactions between adults and children are important to help the child develop. Also the example of all four-legged animals being grouped in with dogs until told otherwise has just stuck in my head for assimilation/ accomodation.

The zone of proximal development is something I have seen used often in the learning process for a variety of things such as learning a lesson in a class or learning how to drive.

I appreciate Erikson's emphasis on each developmental stage, like how your life as an 18 month old can play a big part in what you are like as an eighteen year old. I also like Vygotsky because of his emphasis on the social aspect and his consideration for culture and outliers.

Inclusive classrooms in which interabled children are present helps the typical and children exoptional children.
