There's a lot to be said about today's generation and their incessant need to be connected and staring at a screen. After watching the video by: Gary Turk, reflect on yourself. Write one paragraph that explains the impact of this video on you. Remember to include your name and class in title section. When you are done, submit a screen shot of your post for DBA to receive credit. (link for video just in case my post isn't up top :https://youtu.be/Z7dLU6fk9QY)

The video called Look up has many reasons as to why we should just stop or take a break from using our phones or social media. The message I think its giving to us is to take back a look of everything thats in front of us now, rather then when its to late. Like the example it was giving about a guy looking down to his phone and missing the chance of what could have been his future. The fact that everyone now uses technology or social media to talk to one another is devastating. When in reality its easier to talk face to face, rather then to look at a screen and type words. Its no use if we have technology doing things for us.

This video had a huge impact on the way i look at life. I watched this video and two minutes before this i was on my phone. This made me realize how many times i go out and sit on my phone. I go out with my girlfriend and we both turn off our phones so we can actually spend time together. I see so many people out there doing nothing but post on social media. I do the same thing when I'm out and just really don't want to talk to anyone because i don't know anyone. Instead i will talk to more people rather then look at a screen

Life is do much more than social media and texting friends. I'll rather see my friends in person and spend time with them rather than looking at them through a phone screen. As kids we think there's nothing more important than our phones. In reality we're missing out on everything that's happening in the world.

I as well take part on this because I am always on my phone and I miss so many special moments. As a 17 year old that i'm and a future mom and grandmother I will be I don't want my child to come into a world of technology.I want my child to be welcomed into this world my a good doctor that isn't a doctor for the money they are getting paid.I want my child to enjoy life and live life to the max and is not sitting on their phone at home or playing video games.Technology is taking over the world and its not nice. After watching this video will help me change and enjoy life a little more.

Instead of saying good morning and making conversation with someone in my house, i'm looking down at my phone. Outside of school i communicate with friends through technology. Instead of hanging out with them at the park, like i used to as a child. Listening to the words in this video, makes me want to improve my social life by interacting more with people face to face.

So now us as students have our reputation at risk or our image. One thing that the video mention and I did not know about is digital footprint.

This video spoke truth into what every single adult is thinking. The part when he said how you can have hundreds of “friends” but they’re not really your friends. I personally think this video is something every teen should watch because it explains in how you need to look up from the screens or you’ll miss something. How you need to start living in the moment and not through a device in your hand. How you need to live your best life and that’s not by looking on a screen 24/7. This video perfectly explains how everybodyhas learned to work around and include the electronics in daily life but really you should put them down and be in the moment because at the blink of an eye everything changes.

This video made me realize that we all as people spend most of our time now a days on a digital device. We are kept busy by looking at what others are doing. We miss out on all of the opportunities that could happen in real life while we waste time on a device. We should all try to disconnect from all types of social media and interact with people. Getting to know someone well. Seeing how they react to what is being said and listening to their perspective about any subject of matter. We should all be able to realize that social media doesn't make us communicate with people. There are people that just care about who sees the stuff that they are posting, only wanting attention to what they are doing.

This video did a very good job at highlighting how society functions. It has really opened my eyes to what I actually do when out in public. I try my best to not be on my phone or social media when out with friends or family, but sometimes it happens. My family and I even have a rule called the "no-tech zone." We do it every time we go out, and it allows us to actually communicate and interact with one another. There are so many people out in society who only look at their phones. I have friends who spend more time on their phones when they're "hanging out with me." This video has inspired me to spend less time on my phone and social media, and to interact with society more.

It really gives new perspective on how phones and technology can waste so much time. I think for parents to spend more time with their kids through physical interaction like going to the park or hanging out basically. Put limits on technology so kids can spend time on things that matter. We waste years of our life just looking at a screen in our houses or anywhere we go and we don't even realize it. This video gives a good message that I really believe that us millennials should take and apply to our daily existence.

This video had a great impact on me. By sounding like a poem, it really moved me, because mostly of its rythme. I think that it has a very important message : in itself, a phone, a computer, social medias, etc, aren't "bad" or "dangerous", but the way our society of today use them are. Because of all the hours, all the days we spent on it, we forget to look up to the world around us, to look up to the people who are around us, who are there for us. We think that a message can replace a face-to-face discussion, a human interaction. Two or three sentences quickly typed can't replace a real word, spoken with a real voice, a real touch, a real embrace. And we are so locked up in our own virtual worlds that we don't see that. For example, in the video, we see what would have happen if he had been on his phone, and wouldn't have look up to see the stranger who would become his wife, his world, the one he would love. That really touched me, because we have to stop thinking life will come at us, and we need to go get it ourselves, in the real world, not the one we build with people who don't really know who we are.

Although technology is a necessary tool in today's society, we tend to rely on it too much. One thing is to do your homework on the internet and another is to use it as your only means of socializing. I, too, am guilty of this horrible habit. I've been aware that being so attached to my phone screen takes away from the experience that is life itself, but this video brought to my attention how impactful on one's life it can be and to what extent.

This video also showed me its important to have a balance, to much of electronics will have a negative impact on the mind

After having watched "Look up" by Gary Turk it has shown me a very valuable lesson. That lesson includes not being consumed by something that doesn't have actual significance to my actual life. Unfortunately being addicted and tied to a device distracts us as social beings from being interactive with one another. This is scary to think about because the only way we can progress as a society is to help one another out and if we are distracted we will never be able to do that. All in all i feel that we as people should put down our phones and care for one another instead of doing it behind a screen.

In this technological revolution, social media has allowed our generation to become more inclusive as we are able to meet like-minded individuals, who we may not be surrounded with in our local communities. Although, social media has given representation to a massive amount of under represented minorities, it has also resulted in a lower quality of life as our generation now finds it difficult to have a true connection with another individual. Among all individuals my age, we all share the same experience of an outing with friends where a majority of the time is spent not conversing with the people right in front of you, but spent staring at your phones. Children no longer share the love of nature and adventure as those of the past as they are locked up in their rooms, staring at screens, and playing games with their so-called "friends", who they know nothing about and have probably never had a conversation with. This phenomenon has resulted in children who lack any social skills as most of their day is spent alone, or interacting with individuals, who will never be anything more, but an acquaintance. As I watch this video, it inspires me to give myself a restricted period of when I can use social media and when I must learn to appreciate life: my surroundings and the close relationships I have fostered. In all, I would like to decrease my dependency on technology and would like to put forth effort making new connections and bettering my present relationships.

There is so much to life we miss out on because we just keep our heads down and don’t give much focus to the world. This generation and future generations could really work on communication and being social face to face instead of thru the phone. Even though these technological improvements are doing a lot for the world being sociable is good every now and then. Also when we are on the go looking at our phones isn’t always they best, it can lead to lack of attention and then lead to someone possibly getting hurt. I’ve learned that i need to be more in the actual world not just my own world.

The one thing that I really didn’t like about the video was seeing how little kids don’t play outside outside anymore and barely talk to one another. I ember growing up, playing all day long in my garden with all my friends and I had the time of my life. I completely agree with the fact that now a days we are more interesting in showin off what we got rather then just living the moment with people we love.

When having a computer or a phone or any device that is an electronic is okay. But once you start not paying attention except that it is gonna start to turn to a problem. Dont get me wrong it is fun, all the games on it and communicating with your friends but life will be way better without none of it cause you will know how to communicate in the real world. Communicating in person isnt hard at all, takes confidence and courage. You have to care what people think. To improve your social life interacting in person is way better, it will build your social skills. That is basically what i got from that video.

When we were kids we would interact a lot and not rely on technology so much. But as we grow older we tend to be attracted to what everybody else has and whats cool in the day. Therefore you start using technology but then it becomes a addiction and your hooked up to it. You like it so much that its the only thing you rely. Then your social life gets bad and you dont know how to be social. Anti social is the worse thing to be. Interaction is always happening in your day to day life. Therefore minimize your hours on your devices and go out with friends or family or even by yourself and communicate with others and most importantly have fun !

I have witnessed with my own eyes a friend that would call me over to hang out and just talk about what this person posted or what another person commented under their picture. This is the sad truth in our society today, but that does not mean it’s to late . I feel I’m the prime example of that, I have been able to come to terms with deleting both Snapchat and instagram. This is because I am trying to strengthen my love and faith in God, but I have found that through deletion of these I have experienced less drama, stress, and a sense of relief came over me. I advise all others to take head to this message and watch the change unfold

It impacted me by showing that we have changed, less social and in contact with each other, enjoying there presence. This can help us as that we can be different, enjoy our life more than our online identity

I notice that my smart devices are keeping me from really seeing the world as a whole. Whenever I'm home, I turn on technology to be informed or amused by things are most likely not real. Social media has given me a false aspect of the true world. How could something so smart keep us from enjoying the little things in life? The answer is simple and I use it as motivation to stay positive and refrain from technology.

This video is a great reminder to put down the phone and "look up" into the real world instead of being trapped by the rather mesmerizing social media platform. Although in public functions such as road trips, dinners, and hangouts I usually don't go on my phone, I do call people out when they are. Even I find myself a victim of this when i'm about to go to sleep; as I stay up an hour later catching up on current post and feed. Many kids and teens at a young age tend to pay more attention to the phone than the wildlife around them, losing focus on whats truly important. Whats truly important is the real life connections we make such as love or friendship for something or someone that can only be truly expressed through real life rather than a digital screen. I hope this video reaches more teens and younger kids alike to open their eyes into whats real rather than being infatuated and swayed by social media constantly. Social media is definitely being misused today in forms of relationships and should primarily comeback to face to face interactions.

My parents always tell me the stories about how back in the day, everyone was outside enjoying the days, they knew how to socialize, and thats how memories are made. I want to make those memories like theirs but i cant because even in school, everyone is on their Ipads and no one speaks to each other. We dont have a lot of time on this earth, and we choose to sit on our phones and not see what God has given us.I feel like i could do more without social media but the everything in the world is connected to it.

Personally, I disagree with the message that Gary is trying to get across. I do not think that spending time on my phone is harmful to me because it "makes me less social" or that I'm unable to control my actions because of this. Social media, if anything, is an absurd improvement compared to what possible social life I could have without it. Instead of being limited to a high school full of racists and bigots, with maybe 2 or 3 people I can truly connect with, I can find people from all over the world that I can laugh with, share experiences with, and be happy with. And while I'm certainly opposed to a complete annihilation of physical socialization, there's nothing inherently wrong with making friends via your phone as opposed to having to seek someone out.

My opinion on this video and just social media in general is that yeah the world that we live in now we really depend on technology like our phones and computers. All this is all useful and beneficial in our society but its also a problem and danger if we dont use it the right way. We cant get too attached to technology and our phones because that can really just take over our lives in a negative way because it can impact the way we communicate with people in real life and it can just really take over someones life and really just lead them the wrong path. It can lead them to not being able to communicate with people in person and can really effect the way they react to certain situations. so basically what we should do is use our phones for a little bit yeah a little bit of using our phones wont harm anyone but have a limit with it and go outside and interact with your friends and family

When was the last time we stood in front of a landscape without taking a picture ? That we went to a concert to actually enjoy the show instead of filming it ? That we talked to a person in real life before we text her/him ? This video made me realize how much life is important and we throw it away. We throw it away because life is about opportunities, moments ; things that are never exactly the same if you didn't catch the moment. This video made me realize that I don't want to spend all those moments behind a screen. I want to be actor of my life not the cameraman.

In this video, Gary Turk shows how much Social media and the use of electronics such as phones or computer influence our lives. Indeed, he takes example on a man that without a phone would've had a complete life with a wife and so on, but when he shows how it would've been with the phone, he misses his chance because he didn't look up. He really demonstrates how always being on the phone can be bad for us and our society. I think that video, Look Up, made me realize that i might be too much on my phone or computer and maybe i should Look Up and actually be part of a world of real things instead of just an illusion. That video is an inspiration and I think it should be shared on all social media so teenagers and daily users of social media take notice of it. Without technologies or at least less, our society would be a lot more united and people would talk more about it. Once again, I really liked this video, and all of us should take example on it.

One of the things I realized was how I, myself, also fell victim to the idea that social media connects us more with people when really, it distances ourselves from those closest to us. We spend so much time sharing what we are doing rather than actually being mindful and living in the moment. The video also mentions the idea that by not using social media, it allows us to meet that special person. Whether that's a significant other or a best friend who you can have good times with. To put into a few words, life is defined by the people who we surround ourselves with, not with the amount of likes that we get, as the video mentioned.

I have a cell phone and still go outside, as do so many other people. This video is biased and just makes me upset that people believe in this.
This video allowed me to see that our generation is based off nothing but technology. Social media has allowed us to create friendships with people we are really not aware of on a true personal basis. With these smartphones, we seem to be lost. We use our smartphones for almost everything. But with it, we tend to miss out on so many important things in life. We should put our smartphones down experience life as we once knew it. Everywhere I go I see from toddlers to older people on their phones. Can we do anything without our phones! If we look up from our phones, we can see the things in the world we truly miss.

Watching this video made me further realize something i already knew about. I watch this video and it makes me want to stop using my phone and talk to those around me and make them realize what how bad a phone is. This is a topic discussed very frequently and it is sad that some don't understand and to see future generations be born into this type of world. Being on your phone constantly is really bad for both you and those that surround you for many reasons including safety. On a daily basis I use my phone for many more hours than normal because I believe social media status matters, and that is deceiving. Technology has become a part of my daily life which is why after watching this video i'm motivated to stop for a short period of time and see what benefits are brought to me.

This makes me glad I've never had Facebook, twitter, or Myspace. I mean for the right reasons, like trying to keep in touch with family members who live faraway or actually talking to friends and people that you associate with is something i think social media should be used for, but besides that i think everyone should either talk in person or on a phone call.

It's not surprising that the device can be addictive. I agree that being addicted to it is a risk and which is why I try not to use it a lot, but I think that in the present day and age, can't really survive without one. So regardless of the fact that you can get addicted, people have continued to use them. I believe that everyone should strive to use phones less and truly experience the real world.

In this world where almost everyone gets a chance to do their best to enjoy their lives and the people that are in it, here we are, wasting our precious time on this, instead of changing the aspects of life that are less attractive than in this virtual reality. As we dream of an utopia, walking towards the lights of our screens, waiting for this "deus ex machina" to solve evry problem of the real world by steping into another. Today, by watching this video, we may be wrong to look at it, but we are in the right path to enjoy the world a little more, by starting to turn our devices off and to "look up".

In the video "Look Up" Gary Turk talks about this new generation people rather look at their phone then have a real conversion. If people have the courage to look up then they'll probably encounter something they never would've. The example Turk uses is a guy missing his chance to meet the love of his life because he was looking down at his phone. This made me realize that the new generation is full of artificial experience. For example when you go out with your friends and are unable to have a conversation so you looking down at your phone. Doing this cuts off the rest of the world stopping you from new adventures.

I usually spend my days on social media, talking to my girlfriend, or talking to my friends on discord. This video made me realize that we only have one life to live, and I'm wasting my time on my phone when I can be living it up with my friends and loved ones. As the newest generation, us kids are just paving a road to failure to our future generations due to all of this technology and development. At this rate, it must slow down because in a few years, we may as well turn into robots because our technology is advancing at a rapid rate. So in the mean time, go outside and have some fun.

This video impacted me greatly, especially seeing that this video was made a few years ago and nothing has changed, only worsened. The need for technology, as emphasized in "Look Up" has undoubtedly increased, as has the addiction to social media. These aspects in our daily lives take away from real world experiences with those around you. The need for attention has overcome the need for interaction, and so moments that could be blissfully shared with loved ones is now shared in vain with those you seek attention from. Social media has become an addition and is devastatingly destroying social lives with friends and family, and even those who may become it. Looking up and disconnecting from such things to live life the way it should be is far more important than getting attention from the online world.

People don't know how to have a conversation with someone or interact with others because they are always on the phone. All the technology has changed how kids brains are wired.

The video, “Look Up,” has taught me how our generation consists of using our phones and being on social media. Social media is not at all what it sounds like; it does not make our lives more social but rather take that away from ourselves. In the past I realized how much time I really spent on my phone and online, playing video games. Ever since last year, I realized how much time I was wasting on my phone talking to my friends or playing. Instead of doing this I now go outside more often and read a lot more. Not being on social media and playing video games for the majority of my day gave me time to ‘look up’ and actually enjoy my life, rather than just staring at a phone. This video mainly just made me realize that what I have been doing since last year, is exactly what everyone should be doing instead of being on their phones. From this video, I learned that we should spend more time with the people around us and also doing activities that may actually benefit us.

People become obsessive and care entirely too much about social media and their status. It too highly valued and other common activities are forsaken while people stayed glued to screen. However I don't think its such a severe issue among as many people as it implies. I do think people use it too much, but a lot of the times its a force of good connecting people who aren't able to meet. Personally, I use it limited to send stuff and quick chats with friends. Actual friend, not the mass following described in the video and other sources. Like many things, it is good in moderation, but potentially bad in excess.

I remember back in the early 2000's where I would simply wake up not having a phone and be social. Now that we are in 2019, I wake up in the morning and the first thing I do is check my phone. Having a phone is not a bad thing, but it's how much time you spend on it because it can become addictive and make us less social. The world is happening outside our phones, not inside.

I think while most of the message has a point, there are still some things I disagree with. I think that people with a phone addiction should definitely try to get some help in order to better themselves. But to the casual user alot of what he says is hyperbole. Like when he says that we're a slave to the machine that we created. I disagree. I think most people use social media as a tool rather than the social media using us. People use it to get their news every day, or to talk to friends that can't be there in person. I know from being a teenager, parents can be strict. Sometimes kids aren't allowed to go outside all the time everywhere like how he described and the use of social media is just a symptom of it. We are still social all the time, life has just gotten more complicated for face to face interactions to happen as frequently as it did in the past.

The video made me understand several things that I did not realize before such as the time people are in their technology devices and scrolling through social media. There is less physical interaction between people anymore which is worrying because we are letting many real life opportunities and chances go because we are blinded with the technology. It is sad seeing families in events where the kids or the parents are using their phones instead of having a conversation between them and enjoying the presence. Even though social media is not at all bad, we are using it in a bad way and we are starting to depend on it which is really worrying. People are becoming more lazy because it is easier to look up information or solve anything with the use of the internet. Sometimes I feel like we are like zombies when looking through our devices because the world is happening and time is running and we are just caring about social media which is just an illusion. We think we have a lot of friends because he have lots of followers or lots of likes but the moment you need help economically or other, this friends are not there anymore. People only show the good side of their lives in social media and not the dark side which is sad.

Doing this will be an awesome experience and a life changing moment. It might not be easier to talk top someone face to face but it will make you a lot happier. at the end of thee day the lesson this video taught me is embrace life and have fun in the real world and stop being on your phone 24/7

Michelle Herrera
This video impacted my mentality more than i expected it to. Although i’ve always thought we all need to cut back on technology use, this video confirmed my belief on that even more. Technology is not a bad or a negative thing, when used correctly. Society has begun to depend on technology TOO much. For relationships, friendships, jobs, jokes, news. There is no longer verbal communication. Changing how other people live is not an option, but i can certainly restrain myself from turning to technology for anything. Communication is important, and so is interaction. Though technology does bring many positive things, it’s important they stay positive and are not turned into something negative by overusing it.

I do believe that this is a fact and many people allow technology to control them. But I also think that technology can be a very good thing. You can always find a healthy balance between technology and real life. Everything can be unhealthy for without a balance between the two things. This balance keeps us from going overboard on either sides of this argument.

We teenagers spend a lot more time on our devices than talking to and spending time with other people. We miss out on everything that's happening around us. Another thing the video talked about was a digital footprint. Digital footprint is very important especially when talking about teenagers. It talks about how individuals now do not communicate with one another anymore and instead spend all the time on their phones. We have become an isolationist society, where people no longer interact with one another in the real world and instead spend all of out time looking at our phones. He talks about how people need to break away from this and start communicating once again and living our lives.

Our generation is using social media way too much. The social skills of many people are not so advanced simply because they'll rather be on their phones going through social media and talking to they're virtual friends instead of enjoying the moment they are living in with people that are around them. I blame myself for being on my phone and social media a lot. Me and my friends go to concerts and we could be recording the whole time or posting stories on our favorite social media platforms and only when it ends is when we realize that we recorded most of it instead of living in the moment and keeping the memories. We are going to a concert in a few weeks and my goal is to not record as much and enjoy my time there. We would enjoy our time and our life much better if we look away from our screen and admire what we have in front of us and focus on quality time with our family members and friends rather that being on our phones. This world has a lot more to offer us than just social media, and we should appreciate that.

I agree with some of the claims made in the video. It really opens up your mind to how technology has changed us. We need to know when to take a break from social media once in awhile. However, technology isn’t bad. It keeps everyone connected. We can communicate with people all over the world, which is a good thing. We can also stay connected with long-distance friends and family. It’s good to be connected with people online but it’s also important to be connected with the people right in front of you as well.

Personally, I find it so sad that almost every kid by the age of 5, has an ipad or some type of tablet just to keep them entertained. Kids need to go outdoors and get scrapes and bumps. I try not to spend much time on my phone because I'm always playing softball or some other sport. I really enjoyed this video... I believe other kids need to watch this video

This video encourages people to "look up" and talk to people more often. If you are out in public and look around, you will see that most people are on their phones instead of talking to the people that they are with. No one realizes that time can slip by so quickly and we lose track of what is right in front of us. In my opinion everyone that has a phone now is subject to lose touch with what is in front o them. Us children are just as guilty as adults with spending time on their phones other than with family when they have the chance. This video has really opened my eyes and showed me that human interaction is slowly dying out and being replaced by phones. Time can really slip away when caught up in front of a screen.

In the car, at home, anywhere I’m always on my phone. I don’t talk or communicate or engage with friends of family because my nose is in phone. Technology has changed honestly I think for the worst. We always look up to our phones or the internet. I constantly check my phone, instead I should be leaving it at home and go and just enjoy the world and appreciate my friends. This video has really opened up my mind and had me think about what social media is really about. Social media is not that important.

We miss out on so many moments and we're even out in danger (driving and texting) because we won't stop looking at our phones. I think we should limit the time we use on our phones. I like hanging out with friends, but most cancel plans and give excuses but I know they won't be doing more than just sitting by a computer. Us teens need to realize that we have an addiction to our phones and we should do something about it soon.

Our society today is full of technology that everyone is addicted to. People are so distracted by it that they run into things just walking around because they are looking at their phone. The problem in the world is all the technology has begun to take control of our lives. People are begging to not be able to communicate with others because they are always on the phone. All the technology has changed how our brains are wired. Kids don't even play outside as much anymore due to technology. if they would put down the phones they would know the whole world is in front of you to explore. You can live a happy life if you learn to enjoy technology in moderation.

This video is very relatable to most teenagers nowadays. Most teens have many followers and talk to them and share their lives with them but they don’t interact in real lives. They only share the good parts of their lives because they don’t want to lose followers or "friends" because they talk about a real life topic that may be more sad than usual. He explains that the children are growing up with all this technology and it is harder than ever to make friends in real life because if you try to talk on a public transportation or in a public place then we are weird. Public places are now silent and there is no real life interaction. This generation is missing out on so many experiences because they are nose deep in their phone all day. There’s no real relationships, everyone meets online and social interactions are very rare.

In the video, it shows how our generation are unsociable meaning instead of talking face to face we have technology. Technology is good in some ways but we need to communicate with the person in front of us. Its like we have technology right in the palms of our hands and we look down. We need to remind ourselves that having a conversation face to face helps us learn and understand how she/he really is. Instead of looking down at our phones let's look up at the real world in front of us. Our life is not based on whats on our hands. Technology is something that will never disappear but we can't let it control us . There are more things to do out there and to explore.

The term society has been derived from the Latin word ‘Socius’ which means a companion, association or fellowship. It is because man always lives in the company of his fellow beings. This led George Simmel to remark that sociability is the essence of society. The term society is understood in different sense. In our day today discussion society is used to refer to the members of specific in group for example-Advice Society, Harijan Society etc. some other time it refers to some institutions like Arya Samaj, Brahmo Samaj. At some other time society refers to an association like consumer’s society, co-operative society or cultural society. Society is also used in the sense of a group such as rural society or urban society.

We do miss many things looking at our phones all day that's why I do agree with the video. We could have made friends with the people walking by us but we were too busy looking at our phones to notice. It's important to stay connected but not connected to your phones it's good to be connected to your family and friends sharing those memories with them when you get together again.

Although we do need them through certain circumstances, it would be an amazing idea to take a break from them once in a while to notice the real world. I believe us humans should try to connect with each other a lot more in person than we do over the internet. All in all, this video has taught me the lesson in life that by always looking down instead of keeping your head up, you are missing out on many great opportunities that could change your life.

To really connect with people I have to "look up" off my phone and interact. There's no reason to be on our phones as much as we are. Example if i wanted to get a nice car but i focus on that i will lose what i already have. that would be my mom, dad, brother, sister, pets and most of all your friends that support you. its even better when your talking to someone over the phone because it meas much more when you tell them in person. that's what's you should care about what you have now but not later.

The video shows the effects your online presence can have on the rest of your life. Things that are posted on the internet are never going to disappear and it's going to be how people can research you for the rest of the existence of the internet, which will be with the existence of the human race. As a race we can use the internet to infinitely track everyone ever.

This video helped me realize the problem that today's generation has with phones and technology. Instead of living in the present and acknowledging our surroundings, today's society lives on social media. However, social media is an illusion, only showing the best parts of things rather than showing the whole truth, which leads to harm. This video has made me want to "look up" from my phone and tell everyone around me to appreciate each other rather than focusing so much on social media.

The display has us trapped and we don't realize it until its too late when we figure out that we lost all our lives and communications from our species, our people, our friends thanks to a stupid invention. Our loved ones are priorities and very special and deserves to be treated like so, in conclusion social could be good but also addicting to the point of harm.

I've learned quite a few things from this clip. I have found a couple of points across the whole video that I consented with. This expands your perspective to how we've been changed by technological advances. This definitely showed me the communication skills of many individuals are not quite as developed due to social engagement consistency While technology isn't really all that bad, you should indeed know your limitations and whether tor not you need to take a break.I am among the people, too, and I blame myself from being on social media and also on my phone constantly. My primary objective I want to achieve might be to reduce my weekly online time, seeing as I'm an aspiring entertainer I sure do spend a lot of time on it. When you put your mobile device down, you understand that the world has plenty to provide on rather than social media.

He touched a certain subject which people are too afraid to bring up cause they'll be seen as weird. He showed the missed opportunities that happen when we stay on our devices and never look up. This video shows me how mind controlled we've become by our devices. All of us guilty of at one point being sucked in to what were looking at that we don't even realize what's in front of us. This video showed me that i need to enjoy the world around me more often and stop being on my devices,.

The video made me realize that I should probably cut the other I spend on the internet and playing League Of Legends. Meeting up with friends in real life is a far more beneficial and productive way to pass time. The video always taught me that there are potentially hundreds of opportunities that can be missed if you don't stay off of social media/my phone. Sure the internet might help us connect with some friends, but that does'nt make anyone truly social and we should revert back to the social lives we lived before technology became this advanced and used.

Back then kids used to interact with each other in social/physical activities, but now they're playing video games or watching videos for hours.Parents don't even encourage their kids to go out and play, now they give them a phone, ipad, computer, or turn on the tv just to keep them busy. Kids might even prefer to stay inside playing on a computer than go outside and play with actual people, because that's the social norm now that technology has advanced.

After watching the video "Look Up!" by Gary Turk, I had a moment of self reflection upon myself. At one point in my life I would arrive home from school and have my eyes hooked into my cellular device until 2am in the morning. I would often have pounds of work on my plate that needed to be completed that very next day and would hold it off for "just one more video" which was only a hyperbole. I ended up being very stressed and would receive a very small amount of sleep everyday. I became addicted to social media and I really needed to "Look Up". Gary Turk stated in his video that "we're slaved to the technology we mastered". This very bad habit of mine has improved tremendously since I am not on my phone as much. I was well aware that technology was holding me back from doing the things that I'm actually well skilled at.Gary's poetic words really brought me back to a time where I was a phone addict and I realized that I'm once again repeating these bad habits. Social media is not our friend and like Gary said in the video, was a delusion. Teens often become depressed because of social media since they binge what they wish their life was like. Once they finally get off of it an see the reality, it makes them depressed. Iv'e learned that it's better to engage with the real wold that virtual reality. What stood out to me in the video was that when you finally engage in the real world, you can pursue real goals and meet really good friends.

That people spend more time on their device than they do interacting with other. Though smartphones can be useful many people abuse the privilege of having such an invention. Talking to people and interacting with people in person is far more important and beneficial for us humans, especially considering we are social creatures than hiding away on electronics. There are so many opportunities that I miss every day do to being distracted on the internet. I am now going to try to spend more time offline and more time with the people I love.

He talks about people showing the best bits and leaving out the emotion. I tend to do that but because not everyone needs to know everything. He also talked about a man falling in love and creating a beautiful life together with a woman he met that wouldn't have happened if the guy was on his phone. I am now aware of the things that can happen once your'e on your phone. It makes me feel better because I know that when I am with friends, family or with anyone, I am not on my phone unless I need to call my parents or check something. I am glad that I watched this video because it has opened my eyes to the sad truth.

We often sit in front of a phone or computer screen. We never take time to look up to see what is really going on aroundus. Once upon of time there was nothing but the TV screen that we often look away from. In today scoiety we need to look up ans step away from phone and computer screens. It's more to society than staring at a screen. Look up, now!

The things he spoke upon in the video I find to be very accurate . Especially us teens we are very distracted by our phones . Our generation is technology driven , technology can take you away from special times with your family and friends . I myself use my phone too much but i'm learning to cut my screen time down day by day and to enjoy life and live in the moment . This video taught me to appreciate life more and go out and do things because you only live once .

You can have tons of followers or friends on whatever platform you may use, but in reality most of those people are lonely and most likely depressed. In the prior generations people would interact and play sports, now more people are uncomfortable to even talk to people face to face and its also creating a lazier generation or not as active giving younger kids health issues and not a real childhood experience.

It takes away our time from being with friends or family, being social. We are no longer playing at the park, swinging on swings, playing hopscotch, or even just going for a walk. We depend on social media to be social but it is not the same as being face to face with someone. We need to put away our phones, tablets, and even computers and be more out there in the world. We are always "looking down" on our screens and never "look up" to society. We keep distancing ourselves because we are afraid of what will happen. It is important we do not lose ourselves in the process and to stop looking down and to look up.

We teenagers spend a lot more time on our devices than talking to and spending time with other people. We miss out on everything that's happening around us. That is the reason I need to fire turning upward off my telephone and getting a charge out of everything around me. Everything he was saying was correct, he made good points on why we should put the phones and technology down and talk to one another face to face with all of our attention. This video made me realize that we really are the robots because we lean so much into our phones and technology that we are lost. We are really truly lost we try so hard to look the part that social media wants us to look that we don’t even know if it’s making us happy or not, a person will change their whole personality or the way they looked due to keep up with their social media image. We have to take in our surroundings and make the most of today. If you are feeling lonely don’t even pick up that phone go outside and interact with the outside world face to face. This lesson has taught me that the world doesn’t revolve in our phones go out and seek the nature and people that we have and give them 100% of our attention.

This video has changed my perspective a whole lot because it has opened my eyes a lot. It has made me see how much we have turned into robots. Our generation relies solely on the technology surrounding us and we are so stuck up on what social media will think of us if we do stuff a certain way or how we do it. We can’t even have a real heart to heart conversation face to face without looking at our social media pages and seeing what the next top thing is. Nothing is the same, instead of being trapped on a phone we should be out looking for different outdoor activities to do and enjoy with our friends and families. What’s going on a phone screen shouldn’t dictate how we are living our lives. The children of this generation see their parents being attached to their screens so they adapt in the same way. We should be taking in your surroundings and make the most of today. If you feel you are alone put your phone down and go out and communicate with someone and if you don’t you may pass off the opportunities of meeting a new friend and maybe even a future husband and or wife. Put your phones down it’s taking over our lives.

The video was very explicit about how social media has taken over our lives. The statement that stood out was that was we have social media but we do not socialize. We lure our selves into this machine of feeling good but that’s all we show to others. Technology has taken over our lives such as our friends. We may have many friends but how many do we tell how our day went? When we cannot rely on them it is just a facade of a lifestyle. Nowadays to keep a child calm their parents hand them an ipad or phone. This idea of social media and technology has taken over our lives and it is up to us to make a change.

I tend to be less social around my family ever since i got my phone. Social media does really take a chunk out of my day but it doesn't necessarily stop me from being social. People nowadays just have to better their time management. They miss the opportunity to meet new people and add happiness to their life all cause they are too busy on their phone.

A lot of people miss so many opportunities in life due to fact that they are looking at their phone or some type of screen. Life is too short to be missed because of a screen. We need to make it a priority to enjoy our lives and stop caring so much about everything online rather than in person. I am going to try to notice every time I am on my phone when I could be spending time with a loved one and change that.

An Agnologment of our distance from the outside world and our own best interests, in order to fulfill artificial achievements. Although I can't blame some people for their attachment to technology, some areas of employment require you to be in constant contact with your employer and fellow workers even during your days off, there are some countries in Europe if I remember that provide laws that protect employees from such ( I could be wrong or be remembering outdated information). In Addition, personally I am someone who chat servers and industry art videos, so for a while I would consider myself distinct from others (in a selfish kind of manner), when they would be creating videos of random things from popular media or actions that would call attention to themselves, I thought I was above such. Above from the artificiality of their shared group mentality, but realizing now, my desires can be just as meaningless if I devote all my waking hours to it. Even if art is considered a "creative medium", Animation books include titles like "Drawn to Life" or "The Illusion of Life". How is someone supposed to create an experience for people's lives without living your own, what would you draw from?

But, to us this is today's normal. There was some subjects he talked about that shook me, instead on being on our phones we can make decisions, what was displayed in that video was just facts. The sad reality is, that nobody really sees it as a problem, and that just explains how far society has sunk. A time traveler from, 50 years ago, would see our society as a ghost town.

I often check my phone for notifications. I realize that majority of my time is spent n my room. My parents would always fuss that I do not go outside. The video has helped me see my parent's point of view. I really need to be more active and spend more time getting my priorities in order as they would say. Social media and video games are addicting, so it is essential to make sure you are taking time away.

It shows me that I need to step back from social media and look at social media in a different prescriptive. We also need to see that social media isn't always as it seems and we need time to step back and take a different look at social media and see social media for what it actually is as a toxic environment. Which means we need to take a break from electronics and social media. Breaks from social media can be very helpful with mental health and also to view life differently.

My perspective has changed and makes me want to go outside and experience what i was missing when using distractions like phones. We spend our entire day either sitting behind or phones, computers or our TVs without having any real interactions. We use our phones as a safe space when we feel uncomfortable and this is creating a problem. This makes people uncomfortable around real life interactions and that makes gets our generation further apart from one another. This generation has to put the phone down and start making real connections, not just the ones over the internet.

I agree with most of the points made in this video. Technology is both a gift and a shackle that humanity has placed upon themselves. We have the ability to interact with thousands of people a day; gazing into their lives through digital windows they selectively open and allow you to see through. This gives us the illusion that we know them; what they like, their dislikes, etc. However, this is only true up to an extent. We only know what they decide to show us, not what they choose to hide. There is an old Japanese quote that can be directly interpreted to this very problem: "You have three faces. The first face, you show to the world. The second face, you show to your close friends, and your family. The third face, you never show anyone." The pictures, status updates, and such are all what i would like to call, people's first face. This is the face they decide to show to the world. However, there are sadly, times in which people actually mistake this artificial personality as their very own.

I really agree with all the points the video brought up. technology is honestly a blessing and a curse, especially when it comes to social media. i feel as though people nowadays start to become obsessed with their image online and forget that they live in the real world. when you begin to disconnect from the real world you start to fall into a delusion. Personally I have missed so many opportunities in real life because I was living on my phone. I have so many good moments i've lived and i did not live them to my fullest potential because i was staring at my phone the whole time. People truly should start to put their phone down and start truly living in the real world, i really do believe they will be happier, including me.

I totaly agree with everything said in this video. Technology is something that helps us tremendously and also hurts us especially when it comes to social media. Social media takes us away from real time conversations. For example when a group of friends are all together they are all on there phones and social media rather than have a real conversation with eachother. Sometimes we become obsessed with our online image to a point where they forget that a real world is still out there. Back when I was younger I would be outside with my friends at the park or playing football in the field, but now we sit and get sucked into the social media world.

It give people the chance to connect with other across the world or even just a couple of hours away, but it can also limit people and make them depend on technology to much and have their whole life around it for ex. most teens use it to show people there life most of the time only their high points. It all depends on the person if they are enslaved my technology or if they want to explore the world and only use technology when they need to like for emergencies.

I believe that we miss many opportunities to meet new people and discover new things only because we were paying attention to our devices and not our surroundings.

This video just summarized our generation. Everything he said is the sad truth. We spend so much time looking down at our screen that we miss the greatest opportunities in life. Yea its called social media but we are losing the social in real life. I find it pretty ironic that people tell kids to look up from there screens but are now we are being forced to look down at one for hours to be "taught virtually" if anything schools taking away the time kids interact and learn to socialize, Its sad. If there's something I take from this video is that we are only here for a limited time. Instead of seeing a beautiful picture through the screen go out and experience it yourself. I don't know about everyone else but I choose to look up and live.

As well as that we may miss out on special moments with friends and or family because we chose to be on our phones more then talking to the people we love. This video definitely left me thinking if I even have real friends because we only communicate through social media because were all to lazy to go out and do something productive that doesn't involve our phones. Social Media is one big illusion we care more about getting a certain amount of likes or comments on an Instagram post than the grade we got on a test. This video was very eye opening to me because I realized how I'm missing out on so many things because I never want to leave my room to go outside or even have a real conversation face to face with someone.

Which by nature makes us very antisocial when it comes to even just saying hello to someone walking by. Which causes us to miss many important things that we could do in person. However, people would rather choose to be inside there homes on social media all day. It shows how we get so distracted by our screens, that we miss the most impactful and wonderful times of our lives just to snap that perfect picture or share it with others, many of whom we don't even know. This video really made me think about my life and how much time I spent online instead of out with friends and family who I can talk to and live. It made me reflect on the times where I was so busy on my phone during a gathering, to the point where when I would look up I would feel sad on missing so much of what had happened. I hope to change and live life in the moment rather than spending it watching a screen and this video had helped me do so. Thank you.

Who knows what there doing on there phones, could be cyberbullying, or could be just scrolling through social media. This video taught me that i need to go out more and make more friends and meet new people.

Technology has changed society, and keeps changing society more and more. After watching this video, I have come to the realization that to us, it might look normal to constantly see everyone on their phones. I have to say I am also like the people on the video. I am constantly on technology and have no self control. This new era, and society is not being taught correctly. We miss so much experiences and so much of the real life, because of all the technology. The new way to keep in contact with people is by social media, and technology. Which greatly increases the amount of cyberbullying. This video has opened up my eyes and showed how negatively technology is impacting our everyday life.

This video is a great example of how society has changed over the years with technology. As more social media platforms are created, more and more people are spending time looking at screens and not paying attention to what's happening in the real world. As a teenager in this generation, I can agree that technology has changed me in many ways, good and bad. We have to start getting off our screens and start living in the moment because we only live once and we never know when it will be our last moment. We are wasting our time and ruining ourselves with the internet. For example, meeting people on the internet can be good because you can make new friends, but it can be dangerous because you never really know who you are talking to.

I think this video is quite accurate. Many people no longer go outside and cherish the world without the internet or social media. People now look at social media to figure things out about the world instead of going out and finding out for themselves. People rely too much on technology and media rather than learning and checking things out themselves. People find it hard to do things without phones and need to learn to survive without always looking at technology for help.

Its very sad. The fact that we have all this time just staring at a box says a lot about how we run things here in America or anywhere else with advanced technology like ours. But this video made it very deep and really was touching. I loved how they showed a lot of the mans life and it was genuinely happy. no phone no nothing. People are always on their phone or some electronical device and that "norm" is being introduced to future generations. The biggest impact the video had on me was the effects of always being on an electronic. You could miss a lot in life by just focusing on a phone or tablet all the time. There definitely needs to be a change on this and the majority of people need to look up.

This day in age we do everything through social media and it can be damaging to our mental health. We must be able to understand when it is necessary to disconnect from social media. As teenagers we are so dependent on technology to communicate that when we finally put down our phones we feel weird or like we’re missing something that isn’t important. We should be living out out lives in person instead of worrying what some random person online thinks about our post. As teens we miss opportunities to grow as an individual by being locked in on our screens for entertainment. Everything he said was right, and he made some important arguments about why we should put down our phones and technology and talk to one other face to face with our full attention. This video convinced me that we are all robots because we are so engrossed in our phones and technology that we are completely lost. We are absolutely lost; we strive so hard to seem the way social media wants us to look that we don't even know whether it's making us happy. To keep up with their social media image, a person will change their entire personality or the way they look. We must take in our surroundings and make the most of the present moment.

An illusion where people show off, edit photos, photoshop places. Social media is the opposite of social, it's where you promote yourself. This video had made me think and see that social media is fake. And how people are distancing each other because of it. We are becoming antisocial, places like the parks are empty because kids rather be playing video games. Time flies by so fast and we don't even realize it, and when you look back you wish you could have spend more time with family and friends that are now gone. We miss out on great opportunities and socialization when we have our heads stuck in our phones. We think it’s important to be on social media or be on our phones but the reality is, we are loosing our social skills and giving in to technologies traps. This means something to me because I have caught myself doing the exact same thing. I wasn’t living in the moment and I should have because we have one life and one opportunity to do great things. On your phone you won’t be able to accomplish life’s greatest achievements or create relationships that make up your life. Everyday I put my phone away for 3 hours and I enjoy the silence and live in that moment. We all must learn to put away the technology and live in our beautiful lives. We only have one.

The look up video discussed how social media affects our daily life. In my life I try to stay off my phone as much as possible, one thing that has helped me is that my school has a rule where we have to put our phones up in a phone jail before we go skate and eat lunch. This causes us to be much more social at lunch. If we all had our phones, we would barely talk to each other. Although it is a problem that if we had our phones we wouldn’t talk. It is sad that social media has such a impact on young peoples lives that they feel empty without it. People my age and myself included need to start spending more time doing things other than being on our phone such as reading and working out.

This video made me realize how important life really is with out electronics and technology. Without technology life would be more adventurest, and fun with your friends. You would no be worried about the notifications on your phone but worried about whos it in tag. The fun you have with your friends outdoors should last forever and not be interupted by a call or text on your phone. Friendships last forever but your phone always runs out of battery. I've experienced this by being stuck to my phone and have lost friends because I thought that my phone was more important than the people around me.

I am now going to start trying to spend more time with my family. The less I worry about what my friends are doing on social media the more time I can spend with others in person. I agree with this video, it opens our eyes and shows us just how much time we waste staring at a screen. I am also going to share this video with some of my friends because I know that once they see it they will also use there phone less. The less I use my phone the more opportunities I might find. My mind will thank me for using social media and my phone less.

This video was a wake up call. It shows how isolated we as a generation can be when all we look at is our devices. It made me question all the “what if’s” if I hadn’t been looking at my phone or iPad, would my life be different? Would I meet someone new? Without looking at our devices 24/7 our mind would be more prone to the world and the people that surround it.Seeing the man put down his phone for a second and live his life to the fullest showed me that I don’t need to check my notifications every second, but seeing him be hyper focused on his phone and seeing the love of his life passed him by made me sad and angry. The video showed me that all I need to do is put down my devices and live in the moment.

This video has opened up my eyes to what is actually happening in society today, and how I haven't been realizing it simply because I am one of the people being glued to my phone. All the situations where I sit in a room for hours and yet don't make eye contact with anyone. This taught me that life is so much more than liking silly Instagram post, and checking constantly how many new followers I have. Life without cellphones can bring so much more joy, happiness, new memories, and bring so much more life to be lived. It makes me wonder if I were to look at social media and devices differently then, how much more of my life would be different right now? I would never know, simply because I was on my devices. Overall, this video showed me how much life would be different, and more joyful if I was not so worried about my phone and social media. Spreading this voice and thoughts will hopefully inspire others to do so. So that we all can live in the moment and live life to the fullest.

This video is a good way for those to see how much the media has impacted our lives. I completely agree that our devices now have so much control over our lives and prevent us from truly appreciating each moment we have. Also, this video was made nine years ago, so it is safe to assume that with advancements in technology, we are becoming increasingly more reliable on our phones. I do think that in the world we live in, it is hard to suggest that we steer away from using our devices that much especially because some people rely on apps like TikTok and YouTube to even make a living, but it goes without saying that it is a sad fact we are constantly on our devices and not enjoying what is happening in the present. As much as our devices have been beneficial to us by allowing us to communicate with the world in ways we could have only imagined before, too much of something is never good, and too much of our phones is disassociating us with society.

I have to agree and disagree with this video. Social media can definitely feel lonely sometimes. When you look up and realize that you're all alone in a room staring at your phone, the reality of it hits you hard. You could've spent that time playing a game with your family or doing something productive. There's so much life to be lived. On the other hand, sometimes social media can be used to actually socialize. As a matter of fact, the whole reason the Internet was created was for an emergency in case the telephone lines went down and no one could communicate. You may recall the quarantine. During this time social media was the only way for people to stay in touch with one another. Of course, one could argue that the time spent in quarantine could be used for even more productivity and family time. I suppose it's all a matter of objective. But undoubtedly, too much time online doesn't do any good. Older people nowadays will trash kids that are online all day, but they usually learn these things from their parents, who also have their faces in the screen. It certainly doesn't help that most kids have an Ipad shoved in their face instead of being played with, or taken to the park. Everyone should look up from their screens once in a while and really take in life. Like the video said, the last thing you want to do is die with regrets.

Social media has a hold on everyone everyone is always looking at there phone people use it in class with or without permission everyone feels like they need social media if they want to know what's happening in the world. People need to just walk out and get a breath fresh air and take a walk disconnect from technology and enjoy the real world. Like mentioned in the video we aren't going to live forever so why spend the time you have staring at a screen instead of doing things out in the real world. I'm talking like I don't do the same thing I'm talking about but I do it all the time during the week during the weekend and even before school I sit on my phone waiting for class to start.

I agree with many points in the video. Phones and social media control people's lives almost every second of the day. We use them for education, entertainment, emergencies, and even more things that aren’t listed. And it’s gotten to the point where people text each other in the same room! We use it so much that it’s not a tool anymore, it’s a lifestyle. I believe that everybody does need to take a break from social media. It can cause stress, depression, anxiety, and much more. Taking a break can reduce stress, anxiety, and you will feel much better about yourself. To summarize, social media should be something you use periodically and not all the time. Using it a lot can badly affect your mental health so use it wisely.

I agree with this video. Social Media has created a sense of understanding that by being on the phone 24/7, you are actively social in your community. I believe that while social media is important, being social is not only being active in social media. Being social involves getting to know your neighbors, spending time with your family, or even going on a bike ride with friends. Social Media has caused people to believe that it's "normal" to stay in your room all day and text in a group chat. The reality is that social media is actually taking away from our social life more than we think.

This video makes me question whether the interactions people have online are just a replacement for real life experiences or it truly does fulfill them. I believe that online interactions lack a lot of authenticity of face-to-face conversations. For instance, body language and tone are important in life for building understanding but communicating online experiences lacks those experiences that are important to get. This video emphasizes how important is to get away from technology and find your own growth from it by being present in the actual moment. However, I also recognize that it does depend on perspective. Some people see it as building supportive communities online that you cannot find in the real world and that is why some others feel a sense of belonging in that type of area and don't wanna try anything new. After watching this video, it made me think of the negative effects and I believe that it can be bad, but technology should also be approached with a perspective that understands both sides of the argument.

All of the things the video said were true, even if people don't want to think about it, the cell phone does create a sense of illusion that when you put the phone down you realize that it was all just a feeling. I am also a victim of walking with my phone and looking down, and I miss so many amazing things on the street if my parents weren't there to tell me to look up at the beautiful things we were looking at, I would not have noticed them. Yes, I believe we all should take a rest from our phones and go enjoy the real world learn new cultures and meet new people all without posting on social media.

The video made me think about how I constantly check my phone and scroll through social media, even when I’m sitting with friends or family, and how that takes me out of the real moment instead of letting me truly enjoy it. Gary Turk’s message about having “friends” online but still feeling alone really hit home because I’ve seen it in myself and others too, and it made me want to work on putting my phone down more and paying attention to the people in my life instead of just what’s happening online.

The video demonstrated the ways in which being always in the screens may cause us to miss actual moments, actual people, and actual relationships. I also found that I at times scroll or text rather than communicate with other people around me, including my friends and family. This video made an impression on me as it made me remember that, life is not on a computer, but it is happening in front of my eyes. It caused me to wish that I was more in the moment, that I put my phone aside and I concentrated on life by making real connections rather than virtual ones.

Seeing this video by Gray Turk, "look up". It really helped open up my eyes and in seeing how much I am glued to my devices and my iPhone and how its greatly affecting how I live my life and how I view the world. It also helps to let me see how being so in love with you screen isn't letting u be in love with the people who matter most and the things you like to see and have. And in the words of Gray Turk, "The time you take in all you made just by giving life attention and how your glad you didn't waste it by looking down on some invention". This helps really prove the point in that being glued to your screen does not help and makes it so you can't enjoy your life to the fullest and enjoy all the moments. This video also helps show how your "online friends' might be your friends but when it's time to get of the screen that emptiness and being alone rushes back to you in its fullest. But if you get off that screen and enjoy life and get to make all those great moments with the people you love and have. At the end I learned that if you put down that electronic or screen, you can go out in the world and enjoy what life is really about. Especially with the people you know and love in the real world not online.

Gary Turk's video is a reminder to not only myself, but everyone that social media is just an illusion of people's lives. The things people choose to share with you are not what their real lives actually are. These "influencers" have an agenda, which is to get you to buy whatever product they are pushing at you. If they are not selling you something, then they are wanting you to follow them or like their posts because that gets them paid. Countless of times you see these stories in the news where these people end up on the wrong side of the law and everyone is shocked. Social media allows alienates us from other people. We can become fixated on what we see on our screens and only want to spend time on our phones watching these people. We turn down invitations for outings with people for staying home.
