He is always lowest ranked in his class and his confidence starts to deteriorate. He feels that he wants to give up, but the outcome of trying will be so much better. The little penguin digs deep and finds the strength to fly. In the book "A Long Walk to Water" Salva, the main character, feels the need to give up when finding refuge after the war because the walking is so hard on him. In this book Salva did just that. He knew the only way to find his family and safety was to keep going and perspire.
