While AI is impacting industries such as healthcare, finance, manufacturing, the entertainment sector stands out to me the most because of its direct influence on culture and our society. It allows filmmakers, musicians, and game developers to push their boundaries which makes the end product more interactive and visually stunning.

I am also personally very interested in the entertainment industry because it impacts my daily life, whether it's video games, movies, TV shows, or YouTube videos. Since AI is a part of almost every single entertainment company, it was only natural to choose this topic. In this padlet I will cover three different examples of how AI is applied in the entertainment industry and how it is important.

When members use a certain service, they usually have something in mind that they would like to watch. Providing those options from the get-go as soon as they open the app can make the user experience flow smoothly with little trouble. A good recommendation engine can make or break an entertainment platform since most people are looking for easy-to-use apps and also whether or not the app has shows that people would like to watch.

Another dilemma involves bias and fairness in AI algorithms. Since AI systems gain their knowledge from different datasets across the world, it can lead to societal, racial, and ethnic biases which leads to discriminatory outcomes. This can be a big issue when hiring people since these AI systems can weed out certain individuals.

Excluding creative and ethical concerns, AI also poses a serious threat to user privacy. Since most of our devices has AI-driven surveillance, facial recognition, and our personal data, it can raise concerns about individual freedoms and data security. If an enemy country or cyber criminal hacks into our systems, many people can have their social security number, addresses, and credit card information leaked. Most users don't understand the significance of how dangerous these private companies can be, since they prioritize profits over safety.

Beyond entertainment, AI impacts society massively by automating jobs, influencing decision-making, and shaping the public perception thorugh AI-generated media. Artifical Intelligence should be built to align with the overarching goals of humans, meaning it should have some sort of human moderation in order to prevent biases or data leakages from happening (Bernard Marr). Since hundreds of millions of users share their information with private companies, this can raise serious privacy issues if there are cyber criminals targeting these people. Mass surveillance by corporations and governments can be a violation of our rights and an invasion on our personal privacy.

Another major ethical concern is the potential for AI to create unfair systems. AI models are trained on large datasets, which will most likely contain biases related to race, gender, or socioeconomic status. If these issues aren't addressed, AI can perpetuate discrimination in hiring, law enforcement, and media representation. The challenge is ensuring AI systems are designed with fairness, accountability, and transparency in mind.

In my opinion, I think artificial intelligence can be one of the most powerful tools in the world if used by the right people. Due to its efficiency and speed, it can help millions of people in their line of work. Although it may be easy and quick to use, we should still be well aware of the negative impacts that AI can bring to society. I would advocate for stricter guidelines and laws regarding AI usages in big industries such as healthcare, education, entertainment, and businesses.
