In this section, we would like to watch some short movie from YouTube and we can get the wisdom from that.

Firstly, there is a girl, namely Maria, the beautiful lesson Maria gives to us that she is a girl with a huge heart, a humble person also Maria is an extrovert person who can play with any friends, especially with a guy who is disabled. Moreover, Maria didn't care what people said about her, she just continued a good thing that would affect her life and also help a guy how to be a better person. So this challenge brought Maria to be a successful woman and a good teacher.

We can see from the Islamic perspective that In Islam, generosity is greatly loved by Allah SWT, and those who give to help others shall receive infinite rewards from their Lord.

The Five Pillars of Islam are fundamental acts of worship and practice that shape a Muslim's faith and actions. They are:

1. Shahada : The declaration of faith, bearing witness that there is no god but Allah, and Muhammad is His messenger. This affirmation is the foundation of a Muslim's belief.

2. Shalah : Performing the five daily prayers at prescribed times throughout the day. These prayers include Fajr (dawn), Dhuhr (noon), Asr (afternoon), Maghrib (evening), and Isha (night).

3. Zakat : Giving a portion of one's wealth to those in need, typically calculated as 2.5% of savings annually. Zakat purifies wealth and promotes social equality.

4. Sawm : Observing fasting during the month of Ramadan, where Muslims abstain from food, drink, smoking, and marital relations from dawn until sunset. It is a time for self-reflection and spiritual growth.

5. Hajj : Undertaking a pilgrimage to the holy city of Mecca at least once in a lifetime, if physically and financially able. Hajj occurs during the Islamic month of Dhu al-Hijjah and involves specific rituals.

These pillars form the core framework of a Muslim's faith and practice, guiding their relationship with God and their community.

In this section, sister Aina told us to make some role play or poster that we should present in front of our classmates, and then we decided to choose a title which is " Why Our Iman Is Always Tested." So it's a great activity because we can learn how to cooperate and also we could share our brain creativity, and we know why our iman is always been tested because Allah tests a person with his love, tests can sometimes replace a worse misfortune and tests are given to us to strengthen our iman(faith). In the end, these experiences remind us that faith is not just a passive state but an active journey that shapes our character to trust in God.

Ihsan and eschatology

Ihsan and eschatology are two significant concepts in Islamic thought, each playing a vital role in shaping a Muslim's faith and actions.

Ihsan (Excellence in Worship and Conduct)

Definition:

- Ihsan translates to "excellence" or "perfection." In Islamic context, it refers to the quality of doing good deeds with sincerity and striving for excellence in worship and interactions with others.

Key Aspects:

1. Worship with Awareness:

 - Ihsan is often summarized by the hadith of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), where he defines it as "to worship Allah as if you see Him; and if you do not see Him, then indeed He sees you" (Sahih Muslim). This emphasizes mindfulness and sincerity in worship.

2. Moral and Ethical Conduct:

 - Ihsan extends beyond ritual worship to encompass ethical behavior in daily life. It involves treating others with kindness, justice, and compassion.

3. Spiritual Growth:

 - Practicing ihsan is seen as a means of spiritual elevation, fostering a closer relationship with Allah and enhancing one's characters.

Eschatology (The Study of End Times)

Definition:

- Eschatology in Islam refers to the study of the end times, including beliefs about the Day of Judgment, resurrection, heaven (Jannah), and hell (Jahannam).

Key Aspects:

1. Day of Judgment:

 - Muslims believe in a Day of Judgment when all individuals will be resurrected and held accountable for their deeds. This belief is a fundamental aspect of faith and serves as a motivator for righteous living.

2. Heaven and Hell:

 - The Quran describes the rewards of paradise for the righteous and the punishments of hell for those who reject faith and commit evil. This duality serves as a moral compass for believers.

3. Signs of the End Times:

 - Islamic eschatology includes various signs that will precede the Day of Judgment, such as moral decay, natural disasters, and the appearance of figures like the Mahdi and Isa (Jesus).

▎Connection Between Ihsan and Eschatology

1. Motivation for Righteousness:

 - The belief in eschatological events motivates Muslims to practice ihsan. Knowing that their actions have eternal consequences encourages them to strive for excellence in both worship and ethical conduct.

2. Accountability:

 - Ihsan emphasizes that every action is observed by Allah. This awareness aligns with eschatological beliefs about accountability on the Day of Judgment, urging individuals to act with integrity.

3. Spiritual Preparedness:

 - Practicing ihsan helps believers prepare spiritually for the hereafter. It cultivates a mindset focused on pleasing Allah, which is essential for success in the afterlife.

4. Community Impact:

 - A community that embodies ihsan contributes positively to society, fostering an environment conducive to faith and moral values, which aligns with the eschatological vision of a just and righteous world.

Conclusion,

Ihsan and eschatology are deeply intertwined in Islamic teachings. The pursuit of excellence in worship and conduct (ihsan) is not only a personal spiritual journey but also a preparation for the ultimate accountability that awaits on the Day of Judgment. Together, they provide a comprehensive framework for living a meaningful and purposeful life by Islamic principles.

Islam and environmental sustainability

Islam emphasizes the importance of environmental stewardship and sustainability through its teachings and principles. Here are some key examples:

1. The Concept of Khalifah (Stewardship)

- Definition: In Islam, humans are considered "khalifah" (stewards or vicegerents) of the Earth. This means that they have a responsibility to care for and protect the environment.

- Quranic Reference: The Quran states, "It is He who has made you successors upon the earth..." (Quran 35:39). This highlights the duty to manage natural resources wisely.

2. Prohibition of Wastefulness

- Principle: Islam teaches against wastefulness in all aspects of life, including the use of natural resources.

- Quranic Reference: "And do not waste [resources], for indeed, He does not like the wasteful." (Quran 6:141). This encourages conservation and responsible consumption.

3. Respect for All Living Beings

- Principle: Islam teaches that all living creatures are part of Allah’s creation and deserve respect and care.

- Hadith Example: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, "Whoever kills a sparrow or anything bigger than that without a just cause, Allah will hold him accountable on the Day of Judgment." (Sunan Ibn Majah). This reflects the importance of protecting wildlife.

4. Encouragement of Planting Trees

- Principle: Planting trees is highly encouraged in Islam, as they provide shade, fruit, and improve air quality.

- Hadith Example: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, "If a Muslim plants a tree or sows seeds, and then a bird, or a person, or an animal eats from it, it is regarded as a charitable gift (sadaqah) for him." (Sahih Bukhari). This promotes environmental contribution and sustainability.

5. Water Conservation

- Principle: Water is considered a precious resource in Islam, and its conservation is emphasized.

- Hadith Example: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) advised against wasting water even if one is at a riverbank. This highlights the importance of conserving water resources.

6. Sustainable Agriculture

- Principle: Islamic teachings encourage sustainable agricultural practices that preserve soil health and biodiversity.

- Example: The practice of crop rotation and using organic methods aligns with Islamic principles of sustainability.

Conclusion

Islam provides a comprehensive framework for environmental sustainability rooted in ethical principles, stewardship, and respect for all of creation. By adhering to these teachings, Muslims can contribute significantly to environmental protection and sustainability efforts.
