Freedom: the power or right to act, speak, or think as one wants without restraint.

emancipation: the fact or process of being set free

justice: idea that people are to be treated impartially, fairly, properly, and reasonably by the law

activism: the policy or action of using vigorous campaigning to bring about political or social change.

social movement: a loosely organized effort by a large group of people to achieve a particular goal, typically a social or political one.

abolition: the action or an act of ending a system, practice, or institution.

political rights: allow individuals to participate freely in the political system.

Civil rights: the rights of citizens to political and social freedom and equality.

inequality: the existence of unequal opportunities and rewards for different social positions or statuses within a group or society

equality: the state of being equal, especially in status, rights, and opportunities.

diversity: including or involving people from a range of different backgrounds

culture: all the ways of life including arts, beliefs and institutions of a population that are passed down from generation to generation

advocate: a person who publicly supports or recommends a particular cause.

heritage: practices or characteristics that are passed down through the years, from one generation to the next.

demonstration: an action to stand for a cause or concern. Workers often demonstrate for better pay.

integration: the action or process of successfully joining or mixing with a different group of people

nonviolence: the use of peaceful means, not force, to bring about political or social change.

liberty: the freedom to live as you wish or go where you want

pride: a high opinion of one's own ability or worth

NAACP: a civil rights organization in the United States, formed in 1909 as an interracial endeavor to advance justice for African Americans

injustice: lack of fairness or justice.

tolerance: the ability or willingness to tolerate something, in particular the existence of opinions or behavior that one does not necessarily agree with.

struggle: difficulties or opposition

overcome: to get the better of in a struggle or conflict; conquer; defeat

peace: a state of security or order, free from conflict

obstacles: a thing that blocks one's way or stops/slows progress.

harmony: a situation in which people are peaceful and agree with each other, or when different things seem right or suitable together

tradition: a way of thinking, behaving, or doing something that has been used by the people in a particular group, family, society, etc., for a long time
