This next week is Teacher Appreciation week! IHS Key Club wants to honor our teachers by allowing students to share their appreciation. These can be short letters or videos, and they can address a whole department or a specific teacher. You don't have to be in their class to say thank you. All of our IHS staff have worked so hard this year, even during these tough circumstances. Let's thank them for their hard work!

Thank you for being such a fun teacher and friend! Last year, when I was in your AP Psych class, I learned SOOO MUCH about the world and the strange people living on it, but I also had fun learning! You have hands down been one of my best teachers thus far! I am also lucky to have you as a homeroom teacher - which has been equally exciting, since we have such a loud but amusing class. I look forward to my last year with you as a "teacher"/advisor!

Thank you Ms. England for much AP Human Geography easier for all of the students. There were so many tough concepts but I was always confident because I had the best teacher who taught in the best way. You made the class fun by adding little side comments and helping to explain in real-life terms. I always had annoying and frequent questions but you always gave me helpful insight. I succeeded the class because of you! Thank you so much!!

Thank you for being one of my favorite teachers I had ever had. Even though this class is super hard and felt so unnecessary (ok I’ll stop talking bad about you class), it was one of my favorites to go to. I enjoyed how you managed to teach us all and make it enjoyable to learn. I have learnt so much more from you than I have from your homework. And I am going to be very disappointed next year, because I know that most teachers do not teach the same way as you. Thank you so much for being an awesome teacher.

Thank you so much for teaching the best class I have ever taken!!!! The teachers are what make Amstud the best class ever. Your energy and encouragement is so great. I'm so lucky that I got to be your student in both AP Human and Amstud. Seeing you everyday was so great and I'll miss how positive and fun you make learning. Thank you so much Mrs. Jones for making the hardest class I ever took one of the most fun. I would always walk into class smiling because I loved how fun Humanities was. I made so many memories and met some of my closest friends there. I even finally got better at history over those two years with your help! I miss having you but I promise I'll visit more often!!!

Thank you for always being so kind to your students. You made apush easier for me I cannot thank you enough for letting all your students turn homework late because you understood it can get stressful. All the times you held tutorials for you’re students giving them many opportunities to help their grade shows how good of a person you are. I will miss the sarcasm and jokes and your company a lot you are one of my favorite teachers and I will come visit you senior year. I was also planning on visiting you’re restaurant at the end of the year with a couple of friends but because of corona I don’t know if that will still happen this year but once everything opens I will come.

Mrs V, I can undoubtedly say that any class you teach is bound to be fun and relaxing. As a freshman, AP Human was our first step into a college level class. But as the year went on, the dreaded failure never came. I remember always walking in with a smile and loving the way you teach. Then, two years later, I had the pleasure of being in your AmStud class! I remember asking you to be in your APUSH class one day in sophomore year. And then my wish was granted and I got more than what I asked. AmStud is by far the best class I’ve ever been in! It’s the heart and soul of the GT family that we have at IHS and I can’t be more proud to say that I’m a part of it. It’s something that I can look forward no matter if it’s an A Day or a B Day. Thank you for playing such a big role in giving us another year of GT. Although I joined GT later than most people, I think it’s one of the best decisions I have ever made. And the teachers are what make the GT family a family. Thank you for always having a positive and energetic aura! Thank you so much for always being understanding and supportive. Thank you for always finding ways to help us out and for working so hard, especially during AP season and quarantine. Although history has always a challenge to me, I thoroughly enjoyed learning from you this year!

As a freshman, when I stepped into your class, I felt at home. So first, I want to say thank you for making GT Humanities my home-away-from-home! I had recently joined GT and although middle school GT was great, it was nothing compared to what awaited me in freshman year. I remember that I would go on and on about how amazing GT was and the fun lessons that we had. And I should thank you and Mrs Stanley for making my Humanities experience so so special. Thank you for giving the best lectures and for teaching us in such a special way. I always loved how Humanities incorporated art into history. And I will forever appreciate how interesting you made World History. You will always be the greatest history teacher in my heart! GT Humanities was truly the highlight of my day every time. I would always walk into class with a smile on my face and my confidence about me. Thank you for being one of the biggest reasons for that smile and confidence. Thank you for listening to my concerns, for helping me up when I felt down, for always appreciating my talents. Thank you for guiding me, as a little freshman, to make better choices and to try new things. Thank you for always supporting me, even when I failed. And, most importantly, thank you for shaping me into a hardworking, art-loving person of integrity!

Mrs. V thank you for being there for me since freshman year. I was so happy on the first day of school when I found out you were going to be an AmStud teacher. You have always tried your hardest not to stress us out and you bring so much light to the class. Your an amazing teacher, and your SO funny! I can't believe that the week before spring break was my last classes with you guys. As you know, being your TA has been one of the most fun experiences I've been able to have this year! I miss y'all and the kids so much :(

I tell you guys all the time how much I admire your passion for world history and English. Both of you guys have so much unadulterated energy that even me, as a third party in your class, enjoys learning the content again. I hope you are doing well. I loved that I could go to your class for any help I needed. You always helped me understand any tough concepts I did not get, and you explained them in such an easy way (which really helped me!).
