The curriculum area I picked was math and it is measured by Florida standards assessments. The three assistive/ instructional technology I am going to use is Screen readers and text to speech software and mathematical manipulative apps and graphing calculators with accessibility features.

The three assistive/ instructional technology I am going to taking about is screen readers and text to speech software. The second one is mathematical manipulative app. The third one is graphing calculators with accessibility features.   “What is a screen reader? A screen reader is a software program that enables a blind or visually impaired user to read the text that is displayed on the computer screen with a speech synthesizer or braille display” (JAWS).  The meaning behind it is that it reads it for them. The second one is mathematical manipulative and that is interaction learning. “Apps are available in multiple versions: a web app for all modern browsers, and downloadable versions for specific operating systems and devices (such as Apple iOS for iPad’ (the Math learning center).  There are all different kinds of math subjects that they can use and there is a whiteboard app to use they can write it.  The third one is graphing calculators with accessibility features. The graphing calculator is with large displays and number a part.  

How the three assistive instructional technologies can be used in the curriculum and how it accessible, the screen reader to read text is that   it reads the stuff to the students when   and when they cannot move the mouse it moves it for them, and it can work from home and work and school.  The math learning center is that it is accessible because it is bright and easy to move the stuff and it has the app and website for some of them and it is big and small.   The graphing calculator is accessible because the screen is big, and the numbers are part.

The cost for the three assistive/ instructional technology. The screen reader to read text the cost is different for everyone it goes from 95 a year to 290 and they can work one device to 3 devices.  The math learning center is free, and you do not have to pay for anything.  The graphing calculator with accessibility feature it only cost 165 dollars.

The one method to access fund to purchase the device / tool. The screen reader to read text is on the website I do not see any other way. The math learning center is free, so you do not need anything. The graphic calculator you must buy there is no funding.  But they need to find a way for funding because what if they cannot buy it right away.  so, they should have included on their website that Is the only things that change.

The UDL learning is multiple means representation and action and express and engagement. The focus is math.   The screen reader and text to speech software is that what is on the screen it is reading the text to you out loud.  The one I read about is jaws. The benefits are helping the blind and helping reading issues and more. The mathematical manipulative app is how making ways you learn how to do math with moving things and making it fun. The math learning center has all different kinds.  Its bright and easy to move.  The third technology is graphing calculator with accessibility features and the features is the big screen and the far part numbers. The one I looked at was Texas Instruments nsprie graphing calculator cx 2.  It can help thing see it and use it.  The technology with engagement and action and representation.

The things I can use in my classroom are scan and read programs and audio books  and portable players and portable daisy player  and keyboarding software and  worksheets   and test and  calculator.  I would be using this in my classroom because there is different for  the kids to learn.  That  there is different ways you can have stuff like high tech and low tech and medium tech.  That there is different ways that use things in the classroom to learn about to learn about reading and writing . The things I have learned from the PowerPoint  is that there very low tech with no technology and very high tech and it on t and it get more technology involved when  the higher it gets and  some of the things cost money. But the low Tech is  you doing it all and you have no tech and like the old days.   There is always something  for everyone and how they want to learn.  There is stuff reading and writing and math    How did the older day have the tech do things to learn or what is always paper and pen?

The things I learned was assistive technology with 504 plans. And the guiding documents so you can help. And the planning documents and you should do it.  I learned about the matrices in all different thing with the assistive technology and they have rubrics too. I really loved how there is different resources on the page so I can keep looking and get deeper in it.  There are videos on the website you can watch how learn more.  The things I learned was there is a rubric for assistive technology how you can go from 1to 5 on how they rate them themselves and how the team is aware of them and everything and I think that is very cool. I would use in the classroom when I am thinking that someone needs it. And helping with the planning with the iep and the assistive technology and the rubric from 1-5 about how the team is aware of the stuff. I would use the videos when like am trying to do deeper and see how it can help and see it happening.   I would use the guiding documents to when I first start teaching and I need guiding help and I like how the documents looked and I feel like they are very helpful.  I would like to learn more about is that can this be used in any state and   more of the planning documents like I would like to go in deeper understanding because I could understand it, but I want to go deeper.

The links were targeting science.

2.    Were the apps easy to download and learn? Were they for iPhone, iPad, Android platform?  They were for iPhone and iPad.

3.    What age group (or grade level) would you suggest for these apps?

 The first app IS 4 AND ABOVE BECAUASE IT IS STEP BY STEP and the second app 12 AND UP because there were things in there you could learn in kindergarten.

5. The apps were very interactive because you had to make it work in the first app and the second app was interactive because you had to find things and label things. I kept playing with the app because it was so interactive and if it was wrong on the second app it would go back to the box.

5.    Were the apps fun? What was fun about it? The app was fun because you can learn things and it was easy to move things.

6.    Would you suggest these apps to a parent for their child? Yes, I would suggest it to parents, but your kids may have you read the note after they are done with the expensive on the first app but the second app if they can read, they got it by them self. I say it is not assistive because what if they have a hard time reading or moving small things for the second app, but the first app is easy for them to move it.

The background information on “Visual impairment is a condition that limits the visual capability of an individual to such a degree that additional support is needed” (Tarnoff 2013). The meaning behind it is that they cannot see everything. The two assistive and instructional technology I found is screen reading and Baillie.  “Screen review software translates on screen information into electronic text. This electronic text is then sent to a speech synthesizer or a refreshable braille display. The user is then able to hear the text spoken or read it tactually with the refreshable braille display” (AFB).  The way it can be used is the screen reading is reading the screen and putting into words.  The braille made is that can feel it.   The technology can be used at school or at home.  The braille cost $5,500 to $11,00 and screen reader cost $595 to $1095.   On method to access it is through the school.

The background on hearing loss “A person who is not able to hear as well as someone with normal hearing – hearing thresholds of 20 dB or better in both ears – is said to have hearing loss. Hearing loss may be mild, moderate, severe or profound. It can affect one ear or both ears and leads to difficulty in hearing conversational speech or loud sounds. (World health organization 2024).  The two assistive technologies for hearing loss are ALD and hearing loop. How the two technologies that will help faced challenges no background noise and used with hearing aids or cochlear. A hearing loop is for microphone or tv or phones.   They can be accessed from your doctor or schoolwork. The library or grants to pay for it.

What do you feel the benefits of these resources are?  The website National center on Accessible educational materials are benefits because making it accessible for everything. There is access for learning, so they have different ways to learn like text to speech. I feel like   you can use it anywhere like at home or schools.  From what I read it felt engaging because they were excited to learn The CsPalm website the things that I feel that are benefits is the flexibility because they could do it at home or at school.  It aligned with a standard it has standard number.  I feel like it can be teach different ways  because what if they can speak it but not right it. Do you feel there are drawbacks to having these resources? I feel drawback because what if the kids do not have technology at home to learn. but that is the only thing I feel drawback about.  The other website on cspalm is I feel drawback about is technology again because there are things, they need technology on and what if they cannot use it. Could we be doing this differently?  If so, how? I feel like we could do it with AEM and cspalms is find a different way with the technology like they tell you what to say.

In the beamz website i like how I could use it for education experience  so they can make music.

In the wati content thing I like how there is how I could have them do their work but different ways because they are having problem.
