After the students are finished reading, they put them in the story where they belong. 

Another idea I liked was using cards to pass out to the students, marked 
- In the beginning
- Then
- Next
- The problem is
- After that
- The solution is
- Finally
Then the students are able to retell the story, based on what card they have. This helps with comprehension and sequencing, not to mention listening skills and paraphrasing.

This was from Day 1 Jan Richardson. I want to be more organized when completing daily running records. Loved this example. From Day 2, Jan Richardson, I want to use more Guided writing in my groups.
