To start my task 2 Future destination project I have chosen to look into primary support care initiatives to improve attitudes towards health and it helps strengthen the foundation of the healthcare system. To do this I have generated 10 potential initiatives in order to help society further.

A medication reminder app for the elderly
An AI system that helps elderly patients check system
Shared coordination hub with healthcare professionals regarding patient help
A mobile GP and nurse van serving in rural populations
Classes on different diseases like diabetes led by healthcare professionals
Organise regular GP/Nurse visits to schools
Automated pill machines that release correct doses at the correct set of times
Wearable health trackers that constantly monitors things like heart rhythm
Tailored advice from healthcare professionals for families on nutrition and etc
Same day consultations in care homes to address acute concerns

an advantage of organising regular GP/nurse visits to school would be a great way of checking on the health of children/teachers. This would enable people to get less sick and regularly sought upon. However, a disadvantage of this initiative is that its only catered to schools and I find that having a wider audience, for instance, going to old people's houses would be a much more realistic and efficient initiative as they generally have more complications with their health.

an advantage of individuals having access to classes on diseases led by healthcare professionals will enable people to have a broader insight/knowledge into the diseases that many people possess - it can be life changing for those in the future who may develop on of the diseases. a disadvantage of this would be that a lot of people maynot attend and you should tailor the classes to a specific age and what diseases are prevalent within their age group, for instance, classes for older people on dementia.

The medication reminder app focuses on supporting the elderly, therefore is it good for improved adherence that ensures elderly patients take the correct medication at the right time reducing health complications + it is cost effective as it prevents hospital re-admissions and reduces long term healthcare costs. However, some may struggle with digital literacy as some elderly people may struggle to use phones and apps in general.

An advantage of Creating a mobile nurse or GP van serving in rural areas is that it increases access to healthcare in rural areas and it reduces travel barriers. A disadvantage can be that they could have limited equipment and resources, meaning they cant provide full medical services.
