It changes weather: more rain, more heat, storms floods, heat waves, hurricanes. Floods have a domino effect at almost every level starting with the citizens, their homes being affected and culminated with all the investment the government has to do to clean the disaster. 

The sea levels rise: the poles have the clean water, and if mixes with the salt water, it becomes undrinkable. Separating it is very expensive and it pollutes more than it helps.

Animals can become extinct: the ecosystem loses its balance and and the extinction of some animals impact the foodweb that exists, it can affect in plagues of some animals and it impacts the food we eat.

Agricultural patterns can change. People have to invest more because of the weather condition become unbearable for the production of crops, and they’ll be more expensive, and it will be unsustainable for the production of crops.

○  Brief description of a current campaign: Greenpeace is currently campaigning to stop industry from poisoning our water with hazardous chemicals. The Detox campaign wants to achieve this by telling the top brands to make amends by working with their suppliers to eliminate the use of chemicals across their entire supply chain, and the entire life-cycle of their products.

○     It relates because they are helping to change the sources of power, and this affects directly global warming, because the burning of fossil fuels make a lot of the whole world’s emissions of conaminatng gases.

○  Summary: President Obama and President Xi Jinping signed the Paris climate change agreement. There has been some friction between these two countries ever since Obama’s term started. But they joined in Paris to sign the Climate Change agreement. This shows just how big of a problem climate change is.

○      Summary: According to the Black Lives Matter organization, the people that live in very bad conditions and are poor, are the ones that suffer the most and they are the least responsible for the climate crisis and they are overwhelmingly the people of color. According to the statistics, only 10% of the worlds population produces 50% of the worlds emission, while the poorest 50% produces only 10% of emissions.
