This illustrates a call to adventure because it was a thing that caused me to go on this "adventure" that was my first semester of high school, without this, I probably wouldn't have gotten up to go to school. In the call to adventure, there is either an acceptance of refusal and I refused this call when I decided I would hit snooze and that I wouldn't initially get up. But then, five minutes later my next alarm went off and I accepted this call by getting out of bed and getting ready for school.

When crossing the threshold, I the hero, officially begin my journey in the unknown world. This accurately illustrates crossing the threshold because when I went to my first class I officially began my journey, being first semester in the unknown world, being San Marcos High School.

Within the hero's journey, the hero runs into many challenges and is tempted to do things such as give up or take up the opportunity to be on the "bad" side. The hero overcomes and defeats these things in this situation. I, being the hero, faced the challenges of hard tests and quizzes and overcame temptations to drop honors and not even come to school. I was able to do good on the test and quizzes and believe in myself enough to be able to finish the semester in all honors.

In a hero's journey, the hero goes through a a dramatic experience that causes them to change their beliefs and/or inner selves. On my journey in first semester, I thought that a test in biology was going to be easy so decided I didn't need to study or do a lot of work because I just assumed that I was born intelligent but after getting a D on this test, I realized that it wasn't going to be easy to maintain an A and that I was going to have to work hard to do this and have succession throughout my journey.

It illustrates a call to adventure because this got her stated on her journey. Her way of accepting or denying the call, which took her a while to decide, was when she decided to accept it and not stay an abnegation alongside her family and become a dauntless.

Her call to adventure can relate to make because like my call to adventure, hers was a "wake up" because her knowing she was divergent caused her to realize that she was going to be the one to change her life and future. Where as my wake up call was more of an actual call sort of but I had to make the decision to get out of bed or not, to go somewhere (high school) a place that would also change my life. We both had to decide whether we were going to accept these call and we both did.

When crossing the threshold, the hero officially breaks through a barrier and starts their journey. In the movie, Tris actually breaks through a barrier when she jumps off the building , starting her initiation as a dauntless which was the start of her journey.

This can relate to my crossing of the threshold because be both had to go through something to start our journey as determined students, mine in school, hers as a dauntless.

Just as in the heroes journey the hero faces many challenges and temptations and she had to face them and successfully overcome them, which she did. When she stayed brave and worked hard she was able to be successful during challenges and stay dauntless.

This can relate to me because the challenges she faced were like tests, just like the tests I face during school. The only way that we could pass them was to be confident and hardworking. Her temptations also related to mine because for her she could've just given up at being a dauntless at the beginning when she was struggling and not doing good compared to the others during initiation.

In the hero's journey, the hero experiences a change within themselves after an event or situation this occurred after the countless challenges and problems that Tris faced throughout the movie. She gained many characteristics that allowed her to do so.

This can relate to me because like Tris, the events in my journey caused me to change aspects of myself. We both learned to be hard workers and to believe in ourselves.
