Catherine served others . Her genuine love for others made her  go visit and help the poor in the slums of Dublin and the hospitals. Love also made her open her house to help the poor. 

Because of the love she showed, she converted the Callaghans. She found good in every person. She was considerate,understanding and could converse with anyone in a comfortable way. 

She named her congregation Mercy because of the concepts of mercy and charity. She was an excellent sister of Mercy. She was a caring person who was noble,meek, gentle,and tender hearted. She was described as a zealous, prudent, disinterested and efficient benefactress 

Catherine was sent by God with a special mission.
