Study Skills / Habits
This term, a study skill that worked for me was giving myself drills and taking notes.
Time management however is a skill that I need to develop further.
One habit I need to avoid or stop doing is cramming on assessments and projects. I need to spend my time wisely to give my full and best effort in assessments and projects.
Specific
The next term will only get harder with each new or old topic being introduced. The old topics given will add more aspects and terms that may be hard to understand.
- My first goal is to give my full attention and focus in discussions and lessons. This will allow me to improve my understanding of topics and subjects.
- My next goal is to take notes, especially on topics that I find challenging to understand. This will improve my understanding and will serve as extra material to use as a reviewer.
- Finally, giving myself drills that I could find online or material given to us will be beneficial to my studies. This will train my knowledge of topics given to us.
Measurable
I can track my progress in quizzes and drills. The scores I get is a direct reflection in my performance in Math this term.
Attainable
I can achieve these goals by having a positive attitude in my work.
My teacher can help me in case there are topics that are hard to understand. Setting up study halls can be a way to help me further understand topics.
My classmates and friends can also help me by sharing the knowledge we have in topics.
Relevant
These goals are important for me so I can prepare myself for SHS. Grade 10 is one of the most important and challenging grade level we have to go through. Performing well in Math could be the deciding factor in whether I will be able to attend my JHS Graduation and go to SHS or not.
Time-Bound
I plan to achieve these goals at the end of the term or if possible early on.

Polynomial Functions

Polynomial functions are the hardest topic in the 2nd Term for me. This is because instead of just graphing a line or a singular curve, more curves are added. There is also the behavior of the graph that is just hard or confusing to understand. We are introduced with terms such as multiplicity and lead term.

These are the ways that I dealt with this challenging task.

I was able to ask my classmates on more information and understanding about this topic which greatly helped me in solving and understanding the concepts of it.
Another way is that giving myself drills that can be easily found on the internet helped me a lot. This showed me questions that could possibly show up in the long test so these drills helped me greatly.

Compressed Synthetic Division

With the introduction of Compressed Synthetic Division, the concept and process seemed so confusing to me. I was always doing the wrong process and wrong equations. But with practice, I was able to understand the process of Compressed Synthetic Division.

Sequences and Series

This is the 2nd Long Test given to us about Sequences and Series. I was worried that this topic would be hard to understand because statistics, for me, is hard to understand. However I was able to get a high score and only get 2 mistakes in the Long Test.

Making Math Reviewer

For the upcoming Math 2nd Term Exam, my friends and I are going to make a Math reviewer that we will share to our classmates. We hope that this reviewer will help everyone for their Math Exam. This allows us to share our knowledge with one another.
