         <title>Mini Project 1 Micro:bit tutorials</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>During this assignment we explored and worked with micro:bits. We got to use the online micro:bit site to learn how to code these devices. Through this unit we were given some tasks such as following a tutorial to set up a code, expanding on those codes, and also create our own codes. At the end of the unit we were assigned a task to come up with an activity that could be done, in the classroom level of our choice, using the micro:bit. My partner and I chose Kindergarten.</p><p>In the beginning of the unit I would have considered myself a technoskepticism when it came to micro:bits. I couldn't nor wanted to really see how this device and coding could be brought into an elementary classroom. However, I came to enjoy this unit very much as I got to learn about something I had never experienced or worked with before. Micro:bits and coding were a completely new thing to me. It was fun to be creative and mess around with the device to see what we could come up with. One thing I took away from this unit was the idea of trial and error. We would be given a task like to make a guy dance to music and had to figure out the code for it. This got frustrating at time when we tried several different codes, and couldn't get it. However, we kept trying and had a teacher there to guide us when we got stuck.  </p><p>This assignment met our Educational Technology courses objective 1: Students will be able to articulate and demonstrate how technology can be a tool to enhance student collaboration, critical thinking, creativity, and communication.</p>]]></description>

         <title>Mini Project 2 Assessment Scavenger Hunt</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>For this assignment we were focusing on the summative and formative kinds of assessments we've used. A summative assessment is a form of evaluation students take at the end of a unit or lesson. A formative assessment is a form of evaluation used in the beginning, middle, or throughout a lesson. We chose 3 types of assessments and then discussed why we think this technology was used. Then we provided a resource that is similar or different to the first resource we chose.</p><p>I think this assignment was beneficial as we recalled some of the technology sources we've used throughout our schooling. Usually there is a reason that those specific technologies stood out to us too. Either we loved or hated something about them that made us remember them. We also got to dig a little deeper into the why of using the technology and evaluate the sources. Overall it was a good assignment to compile some resources to use as a future teacher. </p><p>I think this assignment touched on the SAMR views as I talked about the technology I've used in the classroom and why I thought it was chosen to be used. For most of my reasons I said efficiency, because it is true. An assignment using technology has the opportunity to be put together, completed, and graded much faster than a paper assignment. There are also benefits to it like how devices can read the assignment to you if you are not a good reader, or you could record yourself talking/type out the assignment if you are not a good writer.  </p><p>This assignment met our Educational Technology courses objectives 2: Students will be able to evaluate technologies and digital resources that support curriculum standards/objectives for all students including students with disabilities, emerging bilingual students, and students with diverse interests and identities. It also met objective 4: Students will use visual tools to aid their work as educators including: professional productivity, instructional planning, classroom management, communication, content creation, and assessment. </p>]]></description>

         <title>Mini Project 3 Technology-Enhanced Planning</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>For this assignment we chose one of three learning objectives. The one I chose was "By the end of second grade learners will be able to use organizational tools to track information from a provided pair of sources relevant to a topic in a shared or interactive experience." Then I had to use technology to create a summative assessment. I used Canva to create a T-chart.  Lastly I used Magic School AI to create a detailed lesson plan. </p><p>This assignment was great for exploring the use of technology as a teacher. We got to look at a couple different lesson planning resources and chose one to help assist us in the planning of a lesson. One of my friends who is also going to school for Education, but at a different school is in a similar class as Educational Technology and she shared something with me that her teacher had said. "AI and technology are only going to get bigger, so we might as well learn and teach how to use them properly." I think this is exactly what this assignment was getting at. Being able to use technology to assist us in creating, but not copy and pasting a lesson to use on our students. </p><p>This assignment touched on Digital Technological Literacy as I mentioned earlier how technology will be around and evolving for years to come, so we need to learn how to use it properly. I as a teacher worked on my digital literacy through this assignment as I put together a lesson plan and activity using technology and AI. It is strange and different than I've grown up seeing lesson plans being put together, but I think it can be a benefit to teachers and students. Technology is so much more efficient for lesson planning for teachers and lesson completion for students. </p><p>This assignment met our Educational Technology objective 4: Students will use digital tools to aid in their work as educators including: professional productivity, instructional planning, classroom management, communication, content creation, and assessment. It also met objective 7: Students will demonstrate increased confidence in using and learning new technologies in the context of teaching and learning. </p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>This is my updated Technology Policy I would use in my classroom. My ideal classroom would be somewhere between 1st-3rd graders, and this could be tweaked to align more with each grade, but is pretty general for now. I include some policies I believe will help students achieve their maximum potential. My thoughts on this policy have remained very similar to my first draft of the technology policy. </p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>The 4 frames of technology include: TPACK, SAMR, (Digital) Technological Literacy, and Technoskepticism. Here I will give a brief definition of each. </p><p>TPACK- A combination of three types of knowledge: technological, pedagogical, and content, a teacher includes in a lesson that integrates technology.</p><p>SAMR- how technology can be integrated into a task with the intention to modify learning.</p><p>(Digital) Technological Literacy- the need to develop skills and comfortability with existing and emerging technologies. </p><p>Technoskepticism- highlighting the negative effects or costs of technology </p>]]></description>
