Young the Giant is a band that means a lot to me. Each of their songs are always filled with beautiful and powerful lyrics. Many of their songs sing about real world matters, "Amerika" tells the story of an immigrate, travelling to the highly glamorised country of America, it tells this person's story and of their grand American dream, of how such life ambitions can cause broken hearts but also wonderment and happiness. I believe in this view of life that even if you do achieve your goals, they may leave you more hollow than before, and that afterwards we all just want to feel loved and at home. 
This song highlights that no matter where we stand, we all want a home, we all want to be accepted. I strongly believe this notion, that no matter how insignificant, even the smallest person deserved to be heard.

These lyrics have huge impact on me, the way they tell you to just take a step back, find what's causing pain or worry and take a breath. This is something that I find to be extremely significant because by doing so you help yourself become the best person you can be.

Leaving something that weighs you down is something that is usually seen as weak. To me leaving the rough parts of your life behind you isn't weak, it's being able to embrace love instead of fear.
