Empowering: Students at I.S. 254 are already powerful. During their time at I.S. 254 students develop tools and techniques to use their power for the benefit of themselves and their community. A student at I.S. 254 use  their power to empower others (impact in the world). They understand the power of their voice, thoughts  and actions. It's never to early to use these powers. 
-Are students at I.S. 254 given the opportunity to use their power to affect real change?

Individual Thinkers: Beyond just a leader in the traditional sense of the word. Not a "boss" but an enabler of success in themselves an others.  Students with confidence in their power and not afraid to step out of what is traditionally expected. Individual thinkers assess, analyze and evaluate problems in order to create solutions.
