The Mom Complex is a consulting group that is aimed at helping companies appeal to mothers. Workshops (like the one advertised here) are one professional development service they provide. Although I can't attest to the quality of this particular workshop, I think is a perfect example of how "professional development" and self care are not mutually exclusive-- self care that improves work performance could be seen as a valuable form of professional development. At the same time, I also think it speaks volumes that this organization uses the tagline "MOMS GET A BETTER LIFE. COMPANIES GET A BETTER BOTTOM LINE." on their website. While social media can be used to enlighten the public about current events, it can also be used to disseminate false information.
