Who does not love a day at the beach?! For those who want quality time, but hate crowded areas and live close to the coast. Going to the beach on a nice sunny or cloudy day to have a picnic or to simply relax your body and mind can be the perfect idea for you and your partner. Not only is it nice to relax your mind and body, but this idea also saves a lot of money (for the ones who are tight on budget) since the only thing you must buy is gas to get to the beach and some food.

Buying them a cheap or expensive (does not matter as long as it holds meaning) accessories such as a bracelet, necklace or a ring that symbolizes your friendship can be a great gift for your close friend, especially if they live far from you since it will always be there to remind them of you. Not only can this save money, but it lets you or your friend know just how much they mean and care for you. Personally, I love receiving meaningful gifts instead of expensive gift, since it hold more value to me and I do not need to worry about my friends spending a lot of their money (I'd rather have them use that money to pay off their bills or to buy themselves food).

Having a paint date with a friend or significant other is always fun! Canvas and Craft Smart paint is super cheap and always available at a local craft store (Michales or Hobby Lobby). You can both surprise each other with a painting, pick a picture/theme, or even have a little contest to see who can do something better. With this craft you are spending quality time together and gifting the other with a painting. My friends and I do this every few months or on birthdays and we go to a local park or stay at home. At most we spend $10 and have great memorable paintings from each other.

I know how some people may see gift giving as such a materialistic way of showing love but there truly is nothing more kind and genuine that receiving a gift from the ones you love when so much thought and effort went into it. Homemade gifts are so sweet, making a collage of cut out photographs or images that remind you of them, pasting it all together, and topping it off with a cute poem or love note is such a heart melter. It includes words of affirmation as well, which is never a bad thing to incorporate. Even little knick knacks from the thrift store that remind you of them, that you know they would adore is so thoughtful and kind.
