I'm definitely proud to call myself a feminist. Although there is a lot of stigma attached to the title, such as perceptions of being radical or "man-hating," I am confident in my stances as a feminist and in the cause of gender equality.

I think all the negative labels that come with being a feminist doesn't stop me from being one. It certainly makes me feel even more confident when impactful female influencers such as Taylor Swift and Emma Watson publicize their stance and proudly calls themselves a feminist too.

I think that the title "feminist" means something different to everyone, but at its core, is about the basic principle of equality. If you were to unpack each "feminist issue", such as alleviating domestic violence, establishing equal pay for equal work, encouraging more equal gender ratios in STEM subjcts - fewer people would be opposed to that rather than the more daunting word "feminist". I need to constantly remind myself of what it means to be a feminist, and look past all of the social and political baggage that comes with that term. At the end of the day, I am a proud feminist.

I used to wear a lot of female empowerment merch, but as I got older, I realized that some of it was quite embarrassing. I would like for the day to come where I am no longer ashamed of calling myself of feminist no matter who I am talking. Away from the public eye, I am still outraged by the gender atrocities that continue to happen on a daily basis.

sometimes i feel afraid to talk about feminism because it makes me look "unnecessarily woke" and also the gender equality is a bit of a taboo to discuss in east-asian households in my experience. whenever i wanted to bring the conversation up i would almost have to self censor so people wouldn't shut me down and tell me to mind my own business. it really shouldn't be considered "woke" if so many people are suffering gender inequality across the world and i think a big issue is how some people (especially men) aren't able to see it or they internalize stereotypes and gender roles
