Thesis:

Bullying in schools is a pervasive issue that has far-reaching consequences for both victims and perpetrators. Research shows that bullying negatively impacts the mental, emotional, and physical well-being of students, creating an unsafe educational environment.Bullying is a serious problem that can affect students' physical, emotional and academic well-being. Bullying is an act of oppression carried out by a person or group of people with the aim of hurting other people.Bullying can also have an impact on a person's mental health.

Argument 1:

firstly, the dangers of bullying is its effect on mental health. Victims often experience anxiety, depression, and low self-esteem, which can lead to long-term psychological issues. The NCES emphasizes that students who are bullied are more likely to suffer from mental health disorders, affecting their academic performance and social interactions. This isolation can perpetuate a cycle of victimization.where students become increasingly withdrawn, further exacerbating their suffering.According to the National Center for Educational Statistics (NCES), about one in five students report being bullied at school.highlighting the widespread nature of this problem (NCES, 2019).

Argument 2:

secondly,Musi Banyuasin: A video allegedly showing bullying that occurred at State Middle School 5 Sekayu, Musi Banyuasin (Muba) Regency, South Sumatra (Sumsel) went viral on social media, Friday, September 6, 2024.In the video, a group of girls wearing school uniforms are seen surrounding a girl while swearing in the typical Sekayu language. The victim, who was wearing a scout uniform, was seen being treated roughly by several girls and boys wearing sports and scout uniforms. In addition to his younger sibling who was a victim, he said there were also his younger sibling's classmates who were also victims. The other families of the victims have only recently dared to speak up regarding the bullying problem at school.

Argument 3:

Third, bullying can have physical consequences. Victims may suffer from stress-related health issues, including headaches and stomach problems, and in severe cases. bullying can lead to self-harm or suicidal thoughts. The emotional turmoil inflicted by bullying can manifest physically, as victims may find it difficult to focus on schoolwork or participate in social activities. Bullying is aggressive behavior that is repeated, intentional, and has the aim of hurting, degrading, or dominating another person emotionally, physically, or mentally.Bullying of junior high school students in Banyuwangi

This bullying incident occurred with a grade 7 student with the initials G (13) who experienced physical violence by his friend with the initials D. Long story short, this bullying occurred because D made fun of G's condition, who was using a walker because his leg was recovering after surgery. D bullied him by taking a walker and hitting G's leg. As a result, G's leg broke again and had to be taken to hospital for surgery.

Argument 4:

Finally, the effects of bullying extend beyond the individual, affecting the school environment as a whole. Schools with high rates of bullying often experience decreased academic performance, increased absenteeism, and a lack of trust among students and faculty. This environment of fear and intimidation hinders the ability of all students to learn effectively, creating a toxic atmosphere that stifles personal and academic growth.A culture of bullying is very dangerous for the growth and development of children. Bullying can ruin their future and make them passive and apathetic towards themselves and their environment. In fact, bullying has occurred since ancient times and no one knows when the culture of bullying started.

Reiteration:

In conclusion, the dangers of bullying in schools are multifaceted, impacting mental health, physical well-being, and the overall school climate. Addressing this issue is critical for fostering a safe and supportive educational environment where all students can thrive. Schools must implement effective anti-bullying policies and promote a culture of respect.and inclusivity to mitigate these dangers and ensure the well-being of every student.
