It is my pleasure to teach this Danish Language and Culture course Fall 2026. I come from Copenhagen and live with my family in Valby. I really enjoy travelling with my children, their partners, and my grandchild. My favorite pastime is working in my garden and reading books. I love my job, and have been at DIS for 24 years. I studied abroad in Tel Aviv and Boston back in the nineties.

Originally from Los Angeles California, I am currently enrolled at Vassar College in upstate New York. I am a drummer and artist, and enjoy spending my free time playing music with others, building things, painting, and going on hikes. Having heard wonderful stories of my peers' experiences in Copenhagen, I am excited to make my own memories and enjoy the company of the city while learning about what makes it run.

I come from the Boston area and am an art major and education studies minor at Wesleyan University in Connecticut. In my free time I like to make things– collage, draw, paint, film/edit videos, etc. Music is also really important to me. I play a little guitar and make music with it on my computer. I love listening to new music and going to shows. I have had a great time exploring Copenhagen so far and am looking forward to learning more about the city by diving deeper into Danish culture with this class!

Hi! I'm Grace. I'm originally from the suburbs of Chicago and I'm currently a senior at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis where I study journalism and history. In my free time I love hanging out with my friends and family, going on walks, watching TV, reading and playing cards. I've had a couple of friends attend DIS and I'm so excited for my semester living in, and getting to know, Copenhagen. I'm hoping to learn more deeply about Danish culture and pick up some of the language. :)

A lot of people I know were part of the DIS program and loved it, so I look forward to the coming semester and learning more about Danish culture in this class.

Hi! I’m James! I’m an architecture major from cal poly, san luis obispo. I was born in orlando florida, lived there for 8 years but then i moved up to sammamish, washington (about 20 minutes from Seattle). For the past couple years i’ve been working towards a career in theme park and entertainment design.
