Object: Hand-made and painted ceramic cup

This is a ceramic cup I shaped and painted myself, featuring Pochacco, which is a Sanrio character I loved since I was a little kid. I made this cup completely, from shaping the ceramic, firing, and glazing the cup. I then painted it with the character that means a lot to me from childhood, which makes it special. This object represents the anti-modern because it's not mass-produced or made from machines. It's a very personal object that is slowly made and is nostalgic compared to the fast trends and modern objects today. Paining this ceramic cup is also very calming and meditative, which is very different from the fast paced, machine made world that we are living in.
