When mothers use flexible working, they are also more likely than their male colleagues to face flexibility stigma – the idea that they are less committed and less productive – as a result.
More than a quarter of mothers experienced negative career consequences, such as lower pay and damaged career prospects, due to working flexibly. For fathers, this was about one in ten.

What do they think about the information you learned?

Alejandro: My mom thinks it is very important to know because it is something that happens in most homes.

Carlos: It was mentioned that this is important because it is becoming more common for new generations to balance between genders.

Sandra: They think that it is important to know more about this topic because this affects all the society.

Is the gender inequality situation true for our society, for our home?

Alejandro: it's not completely true, because she do the 2 role gender

Carlos: It could be true in our society if we generalize, but without thinking if this happens at home, we could reach a balance.

Sandra: Yes, because we can see that most women that work are paid less than men, also men most of the time don't help with the housework.

Is there anything you as a son/daughter can do to ease the burden or reduce the work load?

Alejandro: Yes, I help clean the home, and sometimes cook to reduce the stress.

Carlos: Of course, from both sides, like sharing household chores. Helping economically may not be an option for me, but it could be for my sister. That’s why it depends on how tasks are divided, no matter the gender.

Sandra: Yes, help in the house equally and looking to be respected because of who I am and not for my gender.

What did you learn from talking to your parents?

Alejandro: I learn the role gender can be fixed or reduced in all homes helping equitably

Carlos: How could there be a generational barrier and their point of view on gender equality? The change they have seen over time, their acceptance.

Sandra: That this is a real problem that affects women and men in different ways.

Support women that are interested in non-traditional jobs.
1. An example will be to support women that are interested in STEM, and encourage them to follow their interests even though it is believed that this area is only for men.
Motivate girls to practice sports that are considered for men in order to give them the same opportunities as boys.
1. Also, in this way female athletes would be more recognised.
Regarding housework, distribute it in equal parts without preferences according to gender, or distribute it according to the space of each member, like each one does their room, wash their clothes, dishes, etc.
Teach the children that no gender is better than the other, all people are equal, it does not matter their gender because that does not define the value of a person.
1. If children learn this, they won’t have stereotypes about genders and also they would treat everyone equally, no matter if they are men or women.
Support women that fight for equal rights between men and women and stay informed about the topics where it is necessary to still fight for women to have fair treatment.
