Although you can imagine what the characters or monsters look like, it doesn't compare to the real portrayal of the creatures in the book. Along with the comic book when you have to guess what is happening from the short texts and the picture, the novel tells you what's happening how it's happening and when it's happening. The events in the book can go by very slowly such as the whole adventure of odysseus going back to his homeland and the fact he had to fight so many creatures and people that would be a lot of reading since the book uses so many details to show what is happening. A good thing about the novel though would be the explanation of what is happening and the details.
