My longest time walking is about 2 1/2 hours doing walk-a-thons or walking with my grandparents . How I dealt with sore legs/feet is to drink water or stop and stretch. How salva deals with his problems is he finds certain items in the desert and he walks towards them or he thinks about his family and pushes forward. Sometimes when I am working around the house or in the yard I don't drink anything, and then I realize that I haven't hardly drank anything all day. When I was in junior high we had a walk-a-thon to raise money. We walked 20 miles. Ten miles to a town and then 10 miles back. It took from 8 in the morning until 5 that evening. Some people were quicker and finished a few hours earlier, but my friends and I didn't worry about how long we walked. I don't remember feeling tired from walking that time, but now that I am older, I ache more . HAHA I can't imagine the drive that these 2 characters have.  Maybe I would feel differently if I had to do these things in order to survive.  I don't think any of us will ever know the strength these 2 kids have.
