It was the first design to use a separate condenser.Watt's two most important improvements were the separate condenser and rotary motion.

British colonies were growing a lot of cotton. The machines were used to spin the cotton thread on spindles and to weave it into cloth on looms. Attaching a steam engine to these machines made the work go much, much faster. One steam engine could power many spindles and looms.

Innovations in the video game industry are changing the way humans lives. From simple games from pac-man to fortnite to even VR experienceable games. Some characteristics of this transformation that I think are similar to what happened in the Industrial Revolution are how everyone is being affected from it such as for example almost everyone plays video games just like almost everyone uses machines/engines in their daily lives. The one main characteristics of this transformation that I may think make it different from the industrial revolution is how in this case we used what the industrial revolution gave society to make the videogame industry of change happen.

Can you think of innovations today in some other industry that are transforming that industry and changing the way humans live? What are some of the characteristics of this transformation that you think are similar to what happened in the Industrial Revolution?

Innovations on telephones have changed the world completely. They went from huge, heavy, brick like devices, to thin, touchscreen, computers that are in everyone's pocket. When phones first started, you would have to call someone near the wire connected to the wall and if they didn't pick up, wait for a call back. Now, just around 50 years later, you can instantly message, call, email, etc. anybody at anytime at any place. This is similar to the IR (industrial revolution) in the fact that like in the IR, steam engines made production of cotton and train travel a lot faster. Referencing that to modern day phones, now communication is instant and the speed of doing so has drastically increased.

One innovation today that is changing the way humans live is the internet. With the internet we can store and share data on a much greater scale and with such ease compared to the past, for example the knowledge of the steam engine was stolen from great Britain and shared throughout the world forever changing the way humans live. With the invention of the internet we were able to further advance our civilization and share with other countries, also in the industrial revolution their advancements kick started their advancements and allowed their society to get an advantage. I don't think there are characteristic that make this transformation different.
