One take away I took form the article was using sentence frames for ELLs. ELLs may understand a science concept yet not know the correct sentence structure to use to express their idea. The second take away I took form the article is how in the engage phase of the 5Es in the lesson plan students are primarily describing. My third take away is how in the explore and explain phase language is used to compare and contrast the matter samples in order to classify the samples.

How can your co-teaching strategies be used to differentiate instruction? Which strategies would you use?

I would use Supplemental Teaching this strategy allows one co-teacher to work with students at their expected grade level, while the other co-teacher works with those students who need the information and/or materials extended or re-mediated. This will allow for students not to fall behind and the students that are comprehending the concept are not board when the content is being retaught.
