Climate change is a global phenomenon that largely impacts urban life. Rising global temperatures causes sea levels to rise, increases the number of extreme weather events such as droughts and storms, and increases the spread of tropical diseases, and floods for example what happened in pakistan last week.

All these have costly impacts on cities' basic services, infrastructure, housing, human livelihoods and health. At the same time, cities are a key contributor to climate change, as urban activities are major sources of greenhouse gas emissions. Estimates suggest that cities are responsible for 75 percent of global CO2 emissions, with transport and buildings being among the largest contributors.

Aljawhara Almuhanna
1/1

Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus.

Most people infected with the virus will experience mild to moderate respiratory illness and recover without requiring special treatment. However, some will become seriously ill and require medical attention. Older people and those with underlying medical conditions like cardiovascular disease, diabetes, chronic respiratory disease, or cancer are more likely to develop serious illness. Anyone can get sick with COVID-19 and become seriously ill or die at any age.

The best way to prevent and slow down transmission is to be well informed about the disease and how the virus spreads.

Africa is alone among the poorest countries where disease has spread and deaths from hunger and thirst have increased despite the revolution of its natural resource. The availability of cheap labor on a large scale has often perpetuated policies that encourage inefficient agricultural and industrial practices, making Africa poorer. For example, writer B. c. O'Rourke on his trip to Tanzania in Disposing of the Rich argued that the gravel had been produced using labor (by crushing the rocks with tools), as almost everywhere else in the world he was doing the same work at lower costs and much more efficiently. He used Tanzania as an example of a country with excellent natural resources that was nonetheless among the poorest in the world.

Education was also a major problem, with high illiteracy rates, although a large proportion of Africans speak at least two languages. However, they suffer from a scarcity of people with university degrees. Advanced degrees are also rare in most areas. Thus, the continent is mostly lacking in scientists, engineers, and even teachers. Some of them have a daily wage of 5 CFA francs, equivalent to approximately 0.29 Saudi riyals, and they are less.

Seba Almotier 1-2

Marine Pollution

Marine pollution is a combination of chemicals and trash, most of which comes from land sources and is washed or blown into the ocean. This pollution results in damage to the environment, to the health of all organisms, and to economic structures worldwide.
Marine pollution is a growing problem in today’s world. Our ocean is being flooded with two main types of pollution: chemicals and trash.

Chemical contamination, or nutrient pollution, is concerning for health, environmental, and economic reasons. This type of pollution occurs when human activities, notably the use of fertilizer on farms, lead to the runoff of chemicals into waterways that ultimately flow into the ocean
Marine trash encompasses all manufactured products—most of them plastic—that end up in the ocean. Littering, storm winds, and poor waste management all contribute to the accumulation of this debris
This trash poses dangers to both humans and animals some animals mistake items like plastic bags for food and eat them, Small organisms feed on tiny bits of broken plastic also known as Microplastics ,and absorb the chemicals from the plastic into their tissues. Microplastics are less than five millimeters in diameter and have been detected in a range of marine species, including plankton and whales. When small organisms that consume microplastics are eaten by larger animals, the toxic chemicals then become part of their tissues. In this way, the microplastic pollution migrate up the food chain, eventually becoming part of the food that humans eat.

The Ocean Cleanup is a non-profit organization developing and scaling technologies to rid the oceans of plastic!
Learn more about them and their great achievements linked below!
https://theoceancleanup.com/

nada mansour
1/2

So what is overpopulation ?
overpopulation is when there are too many people for the environment to sustain the essentials such as food, drinkable water or even breathable air.

Although China is a considered a large county geographically, it still has an estimated population density of 145 people per square kilometer. It ranks 81st on the list of the 195 countries in the world. For comparison, Australia currently ranks as one of the lowest density populated countries, with a population density of 3 people per square kilometer

China tried to stop the overpopulation by bringing the one child policy in 1980 as a temporary measure to slow down china’s rapid population growth, but this had its own problems, and the most impactful one of China’s one child policy was to the gender ratio. China traditionally preferred boys over girls and this created the gender ratio that become extremely unbalanced. Boys are regarded in china to be financially and physically more capable than girls, so some women will abort their pregnancy if they find out they are having a girl. This concluded that 66 million girls who should have been born, where not. According to Radio Free Asia This means that 21% of the men over 50 in 2020 would never have married.

So in conclusion:
Overpopulation is one of the biggest problems facing humanity now. It is affecting the planets wellbeing and effecting the scarcity of food. In china this problem is huge and needs to be fixed soon otherwise the average global temperature will rise 4-5 degrees Celsius by 2100.
And it will also result in a high crime rate, enormous amounts of acid rain, mass extinction of species, and a scarcity of natural resources, among other social and environmental effects, if it is not addressed fast. China is not just coping with environmental issues; the situation has also deteriorated to the point where there is a significant gender imbalance and lots of abortion and it’s difficulties.

Some videos to provied further information :
https://youtu.be/Fg7jIjmLyWs
https://youtu.be/Eo3VRmuwawo

This project was made by :
Rawan Fahad Al-futemani ♡♡
1/2

Study results published in the journal Union Concerned Scientists in 2014 indicate that transportation produces more than half the amount of carbon monoxide and nitrogen oxides, and more than a quarter of the hydrocarbons released into US air.

https://youtu.be/e6rglsLy1Ys

student name : Linda almalki
1/2

Some quasi-economic and non-economic indicators have also been proposed to measure poverty in India. For example, in order to determine whether a person is poor, the MPI places a 13% weight on the number of years that person has been in school or engaged in education and 6.25% weight on that person's financial condition
From the late nineteenth century until the early twentieth century, under British rule, poverty in India intensified, peaking in the 1920s. Famine and disease have killed millions in multiple vicious circles through.

Joud alqifary 1/2

Although this may be due to a number of factors — collapsed infrastructure and distribution systems, contamination, conflict, or poor management of water resources — it is clear that climate change, as well as human factors, are increasingly denying children their right to safe water and sanitation. The impacts of water scarcity affect families and their communities.Without clean, easily accessible water, they can become locked in poverty for generations. As Africa’s population continues to grow and climate change continues to rob the continent of the finite resource, it is predicted that by 2025, close to 230 million Africans will be facing water scarcity, and up to 460 million will be living in water-stressed areas.
The year 2025 is around the corner, just three years away, and that time will pass in the blink of an eye.

Globally, twice as many people were affected by natural disasters in the 1990s vs. in the 1980s, and global annual economic losses from extreme events increased 10-fold over the past four decades. Heat waves, droughts, fires, floods, tropical storms, and other natural disasters pose long-term health consequences. For example, particulate matter from fires reduces air quality and causes morbidity and mortality from cardiorespiratory disease; flooding can cause biological contamination of water supplies, displacement, and trauma; more intense coastal storms, combined with sea level rise and loss of coastal barrier systems (mangrove forests, vegetated dunes, coral reefs, and wetlands), generate a “triple threat” for inhabitants of low-lying coastal areas. Survivors of natural disasters face serious, yet poorly understood, physical and mental health impacts. It must be a priority to investigate trends in exposure to natural hazards, which populations are most vulnerable, and effective practices for reducing vulnerability

https://youtu.be/a4wPE3fQJuU

Juri Aldosari
1/2

Global warming is a phenomenon that has occurred in recent years which has the potential to cause a reversible changes. these changes are not only limited to variations in weather conditions, but they also include changes in biology, sociology, and economics as well. Before having a thorough discussion on global warming impacts understanding the definitions of this phenomenon takes priority.

The Sun releases energy in the form of heat and radiation. Some of this energy is absorbed by the Earth crust why the remaining is reflected to the atmosphere. This energy now thats is reflected to the atmosphere, it gets absorbed by certain gases known as greenhouse gases. As a result the gases gain energy and increase air temperature. Ever since the industrial revolution during the previous century, the concentration of these gases increased because of the rapid burning of fossil fuels.

Global warming impacts are enormous and can be easily demonstrated. For example this period that we currently live in has witnessed a great mass extension. In addition several countries that depend solely on crop production and agriculture have suffered significantly. India is an example of that since their crops couldn’t withstand the warming affect impacting their economy notably.

Despite global warming being demonstrated as a negative force that’s causing several negative changes, still sacrifice of technological advancement is not a feasible solution. Therefore there are several initiatives that Saudi Arabia is working on the weaken the warming effect. For example the 7,5 million trees initiative. Planting more trees will be a contributing factor in reducing greenhouse gas effect in the atmosphere therefore reducing global warming effect.

Unemployment is an economic condition in which individuals actively seeking jobs remain un-hired. The problem of unemployment is a worldwide reality suffer from it. Over time it has become worse, especially after the global economic crisis, and it has become a threat to social development.

Causes of Unemployment

Firstly, the increased population leads to higher unemployment rates. and this is very obvious in countries like China and India

Secondly, There is a global rapid technological change which plays a big role in the increased unemployment problem.

The third cause is a lack of education or skills for employment. This happens when the qualifications of a person are not sufficient to meet his job responsibilities.

Forth The rising cost makes it hard for the companies to pay the usual optimum salary for the employees.

Effects of Unemployment

1/ the financial problems which are rising from prolonged unemployment. It is known that we can not buy anything without money; the constant income buys food, clothing, and shelter.

2/many obvious and well-documented social problems are caused by unemployment. Because of the increased spare time, there will be an increase in the rates of alcoholism, drug abuse, and domestic violence.

3/Unemployment affects a person psychologically too. Numerous studies have revealed a relationship between unemployment and lack of self-esteem and confidence leading to depression and psychosomatic diseases, personal worthlessness, and powerlessness.

In the end, Unemployment has become a major problem that affects our life, health, economy, and community. So countries should build more companies and factories to provide more opportunities and positions to respond to the need of the increased population. Moreover, there should be unemployment insurance to help unemployed individuals with their financial problems till they find a job.

https://youtu.be/IOoV1Q_VGFA
Joud almohizea - جود المهيزع 1/2

Global warming is the long-term heating of Earth’s surface observed since the pre-industrial period (between 1850 and 1900) due to human activities, primarily fossil fuel burning, which increases heat-trapping greenhouse gas levels in Earth’s atmosphere. This term is not interchangeable with the term "climate change."Since the pre-industrial period, human activities are estimated to have increased Earth’s global average temperature by about 1 degree Celsius (1.8 degrees Fahrenheit), a number that is currently increasing by more than 0.2 degrees Celsius (0.36 degrees Fahrenheit) per decade. The current warming trend is unequivocally the result of human activity since the 1950s and is proceeding at an unprecedented rate over millennia.
https://youtu.be/oG8XNuTci-U

Coronavirus disease (COVID-19)

Protect yourself and others from infection by staying at least 1 metre apart from others, wearing a properly fitted mask, and washing your hands or using an alcohol-based rub frequently. Get vaccinated when it’s your turn and follow local guidance.
The virus can spread from an infected person’s mouth or nose in small liquid particles when they cough, sneeze, speak, sing or breathe. These particles range from larger respiratory droplets to smaller aerosols. It is important to practice respiratory etiquette, for example by coughing into a flexed elbow, and to stay home and self-isolate until you recover if you feel unwell.
To prevent infection and to slow transmission of COVID-19, do the following:
Get vaccinated when a vaccine is available to you.
Stay at least 1 metre apart from others, even if they don’t appear to be sick.
Wear a properly fitted mask when physical distancing is not possible or when in poorly ventilated settings.
Choose open, well-ventilated spaces over closed ones.

There is nothing worse than being trapped in your car, waiting in the middle of a traffic jam. It is frustrating, knowing that there is nothing you can do and that you are going to be late to work. Traffic jams often occur during rush hour or right after a large event because there are more cars on the road than normal. Traffic jams can also be caused by car accidents or road construction. They usually occur on major roads that many people use to travel to work or school. Traffic jams are a problem because they make people late for work or school, they can cause car accidents, and they are frustrating. How can we reduce the number of traffic jams? Possible solutions include carpooling or using public transportation. The best way to solve traffic jams is by using public transportation because it will be efficient, economical, and reliable.

name : reem suliman alarifi

What Causes Climate Change?
The Earth’s climate has always changed and evolved. Some of these changes have been due to natural causes such as volcanic eruptions, floods, forest fires etc., but quite a few of them are due to human activities. Human activities such as deforestation, burning fossil fuels, farming livestock etc., generate an enormous amount of greenhouse gases. This results in greenhouse effect and global warming which are the major causes for climate change Effects of Climate Change
If the current situation of climate change continues in a similar manner then it will impact all forms of life on the earth. The earth temperature will rise, the monsoon patterns will change, sea levels will rise, and storms, volcanic eruptions and natural disasters will occur frequently. The biological and ecological balance of the earth will get disturbed. The environment will get polluted and humans will not be able to get fresh air to breath and fresh water to drink. Life on earth will come to an end.
https://youtu.be/oJAbATJCugs
reema alqhtani 1-2

A recent study confirmed that the city of Makkah Al-Mukarramah has more than 150 times its population in 146 years, and that the city in which the Sacred Mosque is located became a million city only about 19 years ago, compared to the year 1857 AD, in which its population ranged at the number nine thousand. The study prepared by the Urban Observatory of Makkah Al-Mukarramah indicated that the process of analyzing the data resulted in the detection of a strong and escalating housing growth trend, especially between 1902 and 1942 AD, and between 1974 and 1976 AD, indicating that the directions of upward growth in general and the fluctuation of that trend in certain periods between the decline and the rise can be explained by the connection of those directions With political circumstances and internal and external migration booms to the city. The study said: `` As a result of political stability and economic and social developments, population growth rates increased significantly after 1974 AD, where in 1982 the highest population growth rate was recorded by 21.4 percent, then the percentage decreased in 1986 to 7.7 percent, then to 5 percent in 1992, until it reached 2.6 percent in 2003, which can be explained by an increase Internal migration rates from the different parts of the Kingdom of Makkah. She pointed out that the development of the number of pilgrims to Makkah is the main driver of its population and urban growth process in its various historical periods through internal migration mechanisms to it, in addition to some other secondary factors related to the degree of political stability or environmental conditions.
الاسم: ساره سلمان الزياد الصف: 1/1
