The Celtic called the queen Boudica. Boudica means victorious. Since the Celtic called the queen Boudicca and the name means victorious, that may be that Boudicca is a nickname than a first name. In Wales they do call her Buddug, today they call her Bonduca.

Boudicca was married to Prasutagus. He was the king of the Iceni when the roman invaded the British islands in year 43. After a Roman law women’s couldn’t be guardians, and according to a lawn approved in year 46, women couldn’t take over the responsibility for other people’s debt. Boudicca wouldn’t pay back the debt or couldn’t pay it back, so Nero confiscated her kingdom, and took her to court. Nero was a Caesar. Boudicca was a queen of the British Celtic Iceni tribe who led an uprising against the occupying forces of the Roman Empire in year 60 or 61. Queen Boudicca died shortly after its failure.
